Why I don't watch anime anymore

For Clannad you need to watch After Story for it to get good (shut up Frekay), Nisemonogatari you have to watch Bakemonogatari first for it to make any sense, there are stereotypes in any media no matter what, if you don't agree with that stuff don't watch anime with that in it and in the end it's just a show don't take it so seriously... so really what I'm saying is

You have been watching for 8 years, of course it starts to feel recycled. Clannad is a romance drama. That kind of story has been done since the beginning of story telling without changing much. There are several stories where non high school characters are involved you just have to look. You have to watch Bakemonogatari if you're going to watch Nisemonogatari or you will be lost. That standard equation you are thinking of is the same every media outlet everywhere because it generates the most profit. I've watched anime for more than 10 years, 738 animes watched, and still planning to watch more.

It's not about "recycled", it's more about the contents diversity and how you use it.

From the stuff that you've seen, you probably watch mostly comedy anime and recycles these type of characters. They're the easiest character to create and recycle but I don't see how that element alone can stop you from watching anime completely. If you choose to judge the characters rather than the storyline, I think you weren't enjoying anime. Like in your anime of Ouran Host club, I completely despise Renge Houshakuji, and similar character to her wealthy and self-conceited character but her alone did not stop me from enjoying Ouran Host Club. Nor did Yamato from Working! Instead the characters amplified the comedy presented in the anime.



You are seriously watching things out of orders. Follow the timeline before you even start the series. Nisemonogatari and Bakemonogatari humors are humors within humors. It's kinda like British humor vs American humor. IN this case, Bakemonogatari is the British humor which most would have difficulty understanding. Look the population that enjoys anime. Japanese people only holds a small portion against the worldwide viewers. Yet Japanese and the worldwide viewers can hold the same understanding of any particular anime (if they can achieve that far). My main point is that you don't have to be Japanese or learn the Japanese language in order to understand their jokes. There's side translation notes for a reason.

Some of these are actually the main point that a story can build upon. Like Mayo Chiki, this anime is based of a gender-bender catergory, yet it's a girl crossdressing and a guy. Problem? No, instead this attracts even more audience to watch/read this. Personally I don't like traps, but audience demands traps. SO if there's traps in the show, I can't do shit but hope it'll serve some purpose to its comedy.

Remember Takanashi Souta?
He likes little things, which also includes little kids? Sounds like Pedophilia? Not in its extremity but can be possible, which is why most of the cast is worried about his Love for little things, adding a comedy element.

I myself haven't been keeping up with anime either. I mean gezz, the last anime I saw was Nichijou and a few seasons prior to it I was only watching 1 anime a season. That doesn't mean I don't go and DL it though because someday I might watch it.

You might want to go into more detail here. I don't know if you're feeling insecure because you are still watching cartoons, or if you just don't have fond memories of high school or whatever.



If you're not able to understand that much of the dialogue, then it's beyond a matter of it being Japanese. There's something much more fundamentally wrong. (Or you didn't watch Bakemonogatari.)



This is a problem with every form of media ever. Actually, you could extend something like this to just about everything. Although that may be getting too far into a philosophical argument.



Heh. I can understand your point here. There is a certain amount of worry that watching this stuff will affect you subconsciously even if you consciously try to fight it. "Tolerate" really isn't the right word here. You just don't want to "enjoy" watching these things.

I might be new to this stuff (4 months of watching anime and reading manga) but I find them much more interesting than normal series.
I'll give it an example.

There is no series that has a yandere character like Yuno (even though there is, I doubt it can be compared with Mirai Nikki).

Being a vampire is seems much cooler in Araragi's case than in Twilight Sagas.

Coz I'm new I can't give you much examples, but I can't see myself stop watching anime.

Hmmm, i have been watching anime for around 10 years and i never had the feeling that anime is boring lol. While i can admit that the number of shows that i watch for each season is not as big as 3 years ago, i still watch at least 5-7 series for each season and i can easily said that all of the shows watched is entertaining for me lol.

For u to complain that anime is keep recycling the same story again and again just shows that u never went into the anime seriously lol as there are almost no anime that is same to each other. While some anime can come out with a setting that is resemble one and another, they are not the same.

This also goes for manga, both new kinds of manga does come out(Shingeki no Kyojin) or manga that uses a setting that provide some resemblance to The World God Only knows (Boku to Ksnojo no renai mokuroku) (For Jdrama, i don't watch them too much so i don't whether it is as bad as u claim lol)

In the end, if u feel that anime is no more appealing to you, u can stop watching them and move to other media lol. RL movies, cartoons, Reality shows? which i am quite sure is also one way or another recycling the same thing again and again.

You need to watch more anime.
