Why is female yandere accepted, but not male?

I don't like female yandere that much, but that's probably due to the fact of me being the same gender so not finding it as arousing. Just like male yandere aren't appealing to males. I don't really care if male yandere aren't accepted, I still like 'em.

I wonder if the Yandere characters are more popular for the characters themselves, not the fact that they go psycho. I liked Kaede from "Shuffle!" before she went crazy, not because of it.

Because the anime world is populated mostly by nerdy, desperate, virgin men who do not wish to see male characters to have any real development nevertheless varying levels of characterization?

i think Yandere is for girl only. usually guys are yandere by himself, use violence when there's no other options

if yandere is what i think it is, yes i know its sad ive never heard of the term till now, but i would assume it is rather upsetting to my stomach to see it in either female or male.
