Your Favorite anime character who died?

For most of you who watch a lot of anime there have been times where the plot shows no mercy and spares no one. Which was your favorite anime character who died and what made the event so tragic? Why were they your favorite character? Spoiler: Mine is Yang Wen-Li. I loved his personality and how he had a great mind for history and philosophy. He was intelligent in tactical warfare but didn't like war at all. He was more laid back and never boasted about his skills or his status. The worst thing is how the show treated him. He always gets the short end of the stick even when he is winning. And they kill him off in a realistic but stupid way. This anime dished it out hard by giving him a death that held no glory and left a bitter taste. Yang was not killed in some awesome battle or anything big. He was assassinated by a small group of vengeful enemy troops while meeting for a peace treaty. And the worst part is the reason he died was just because of random bad luck! He just so happen to have escaped the assassins with his men protecting him until they all died and while he was walking across the large almost empty ship he ran into one of the assassins who was insignificant and never named. The guy shot him in the leg and Yang bled to death there. If the death had more meaning in it I might not have been as upset but this was a slap to the face.......and yet this is how real life is. It does not favor anyone over another when it comes to death or the situation for which it occurs.
