This fourm is slightly agrivating to me. Your just saying men shouldnt because you dont have the nerve to cosplay as a scatily clathed anime charactor your self. I myself am fearly new cosplayer and only have and i take pride in the small amout of cosplay that i do.

Yes I know I have green hair in it but I ran out of orange spray the day before.
The true reason most people cosplay is to show off the shows thay like and to have fun while doing it, also most the cosplayers I'v seen/meet have been the total opposet of the charactors physice ( A.K.A slim choiji's, tall laharal, ect.)
P.S. I would post more of my cosplays but i dont have any pics of them or there about half finished costumes.

This topics a bit miss titled, but I have to agree on some points of it. i mean thats just nasty. Thoughstil, its not really that men shouldn't cause play, its just that men should never never EVER cos-play as women...ever...most of those outfits were NOT made for the male frame...its just nast...however if its a good cosplay theres really nothing wrong with a guy cosplaying as a male character. I mean I myself made a pretty good Inuyasha a few years back. Only thing that was wrong with my outfit was I ended up having to cheap out on my "Tetsuiga" ....it was a highly flimsy plastic sword >.<
Still, might want to think about editing the title slightlyand I know I'm not the first person to say that.

last i truly am an otaku belive me i started frothing at the mouth when i heard gundam 00 was going to be on tv in the us (already have the fansubs) not only that but every limit on my normal physiology was gone i walked farther than ever before without stretching no pain and still had energy left all because of anime so don't say i'm not an otaku if i didn't have anime i literally wouldn't be who i am today pm for the whole story.alos look up Sorrior on my anime list.

moving on, i love anime and manga as much as the most other guys in here, but i love the comic relief, the puns, and mostly the stories... thats why i'd just as well read Spawn as i'd read manga, the country it comes from, and what language is the original means squat in the end.
and thats why i'm getting upset with youngsters these days that try to live life as an otaku, wich often, not always,, mean they live as bums and spend all their social wellfare on figurines and anime dvd's.
nuff ranting, i'll let you guys get back to male cosplaying... ;)

i have to say that the exception to cross playing (both ways) is if you have the body to do it. because a man can indeed pull off female cosplaying roles if he's slim enough
however really you people are over exaggerating because its worst when a fat chick cosplays as faye =.=

The courage for daring to be different? I agree that some anime and cosplay fans will be "pissed" by their actions, but from the replies to this thread, it has shown there are others who will be amused or appreciate their supposed sense of humour. In addition, these cosplayers jolly well know that they will become the subject of ridicule among their peers, yet they went ahead with their plan.
Then again, it could be possible that they are seeking their few minutes of fame...
I believe it is impossible to have "good" and "nice" things in this world without the presence of the "ugly" ones.

The issue with ugly cosplayers isn't really about the cosplays. It's about ugly people and tight clothing.
Understandably, a lot of people get irked when they see ugly cosplayers because your favorite characters will hold some sort of significance to you. I think I'm a lot meaner than you guys, not purposely, but I am. If I see somebody really fat, I lol. I just HAVE to or my innards will explode from holding it in for too long.
And just as a sidenote, I've seen guys that cosplay that have more feminine beauty than most females. They're rare but they exist.

Sometimes though, guys who are feminine or girls who are masculine switch genders because they're more comfortable being the opposite sex. The funny thing about that is once they switch appearances/sex, they tend to be the epitome of the gender they switched to. Very ironic.

Mm, it's probably visual full-body makeup. Lighting probably played a part as well. IMO, full-body makeup really enhances cosplay when there aren't any blotches or missed spots.

I prefer anime and manga because of their far superior stories and also i watch american shows just very few of em hell i openly admit i liked rainbow bright as a kid hmm now that i think of it maybe someone should make this a topic. Oh and in regards to mr sexy up thier sign me up on the talked bout mass hitting. since iu'm bi it's even better. Oh and the thing is also that being an otaku dosn't mean anime is the only thing you watch it just means at least to me that it is your PRIMARY interest in essence i easily own over 3000 dollars of anime and you know what i'm oproud of it but my americn dvdsprobably only eqaul about 500 dsollars probably less. OPint i it isn't evrything also i'm no kid i'm 21 going on 22 in almosyt exactly 2 months my birthdays in fact i'm 2 days away from an exact two months. sry for puuting this in obvoiusly the wrong thread juts had to put my two cents in.
