why do people like wearing cosplay?

i don't think wear cosplay would be fun/cool/awsome especially at schooexcept for if its like holloween and its a funny looking one.

so why do you like wearing them.

Clearly you dont have the right mind set to enjoy something like cosplay...However the reason I cosplay to random events is for the looks from the mundanes ^^. also, don't knock things till you try them.

meet me in person then ur dumb founded, code geass themed belt chains, 2 advent children themed rings on both side of the finger and hand, anime themed headband, highlighted red hair and custom anime T's...still think cosplay is not fun ?

You got to be your favorite character. Isn't it every animes kids dream?

i buy some accessories but i dont want to be my favorite character because im not id rather be myself in like the tv show but my own char then an already created one, if that makes sense

I personally don't cosplay but then I know a guy who does, and ha people have said, it's just he spirit of being your favorite character, or having the chance to be someone else. Besides if I were to cosplay I would be pedobear, and I'd have o get a friend to dress like a loli, and another as Chris Hansen for that to work.

I'm not really sure that's something you can (well even if you can you probably wouldn't want to) imitate. Sadly (not because it is a sad thing to do but because it requires effort) you will have to find a real loli. At this point I don't even care if you're cosplaying anymore....go find the damn loli.

Btw I myself cosplay mostly because I find it to be more fun than going to conventions and just looking like another random person in the crowd.

There is no one way to answer why people cosplay. But here is my interpretation of some possibilities.
1)
It's really a psychological question actually, when some people dress up of do something as simple as putting on a mask, he can feel as an anonymous person or take up a completely different personality. Because of this psychological effect, people can detach themselves from their ordinary boring lives if just for a moment to try to harness the glory of being their idol or just someone else.
2)
Other humans are funny, maybe I'll dress up to see how they'll react, lolol.

I guess ppl cosplay to have a feeling where they become one with the character of choice.

Also, ppl could just cosplay to just show their admiration of specific anime characters. Id dress up as Kira Yamato in his ZAFT commander uniform anyday.

Normally It's either for fun or To express themselves. Detailing that would take a while.

why wouldn't you like wearing it? i personaly haven't cosplyed myself (yet) but it looks really fun... the point being try it and then you will see why people like it

Cosplay = 1 form of fetish = no explanation required. We know what rocks your balls off.

Its an adventure!
Something to take you away from a busy life for a while~

- Picking someone you'd like to be.
- Planning how to pull it off
- Using your creativity to make it
- Getting into character
- Having your picture taken
- Having another Cosplay/Halloween costume for future use

It's all fun!

I will never know why people want to cosplay but one of my friends cosplayed when we both went to a con. (But it would look cool if i dressed up as saito)

I cosplay as a service to other people due to my intense resemblance to Asuma from Naruto. Its pretty scary actually. Plus the costume is comfortable so its not a big deal to walk around in all day.

I love cosplaying, but I don't think I would ever do it anywhere but a convention, unless it was on the way to a con, or to a photo shoot. People who were cosplays to school baffle me...

But as to why people cosplay in general, I think they get a kick out of the attention and dressing up like a character they love! And in my case it's also because I really enjoy sewing.

i am a random weirdo so.. i would wear cosplay if i could.. but sadly.. i do not know where to get them.. hoping to wear cosplay to an anime con in a few years...(never been to a con either ^_^; *sweat*)

I've only done it once. But it was very fun. I am actually learning to sew so I can make my own costumes. It is a creative outlet and I can be someone else for a day. What more could I want?
