Honestly you're better off trusting people unless they give you an actual reason to doubt them. In this case no only Fakku gave us no reason to doubt them they given us plenty of reason to trust them.

Well, so far they seem to have been successfully simul-publishing two different magazines without any major issues that I've seen. I believe they said the plan is to sign on more as well, and without increasing the cost of the subscription if I'm not mistaken. Have they lied about anything so far? Otherwise I completely understand people taking a wait and see approach, the service is definitely still in it's infancy.

maybe it's better to say it this way - I'm willing to trust them when it comes to hoping for the best for this site and trying to do good things in the best way they can. but I'm not trusting Fakku with my money, since the site is now void of most of its content, and is asking for a high sum of money and my trust that they will spend the money in a good way. the problem for me is, cooperation is one thing, but in this case we are being forced to pick sides, to go "with me or against me" because of the legality of our habits. I'm not quitting the site and I want to find a solution, but my hands are tied when I am not one of the "paying".

Like most, I have been a lurker on the site for many years(at least since 09). After a few years, I visited others sites, while always visiting this site from time to time (fufufuu). Since 2015, I started to notice changes on Fakku with the removal of tags I like and the subscription service. Like most, I did not like it, mainly the removal of scans with certain tags. While lurking in 2015, it seems more and more books where purchase only or you have to have a subscription. Now as of 2016, Fakku is basically a subscription/purchase only site. I understand some of the reason why subscription and purchases are forced, but I see it as a double-edge sword.
From my point of view, think of buying an artist book like buying a game. Sometimes I can demo the game before purchase and if I buy the game, I can return the game for a refund or for credit if I dont like it. I don't think you can do this with an artist book.
Another reason this is a good/bad idea is that Fakku wasn't the only site that provided scans. The people who wanted scan will simply migrate, I can think of at least three sites I visit that are not bound by subscriptions.
The subscription price is the main thing I have a issue with $12 a month. So that's 12x12 = $144 a year...... Xbox live is $60, hulu is either 8x12 or 7x12. But to the point I am trying to make, with the subscription (to my knowledge) only allow you to view manga. There are other adult sites that will give you more than just manga, they will give you access to adult anime, manga, and more for less. That's not good for this site. If not manga from japan, there are other sites that create their own original manga, flash, pictures, and etc that have a subscription price cheaper than $12
While I value this site, I will likely only use this site to see a book I will purchase from amazon, jlist etc..., like Everyday Monster Girls

I have not been here for more than a week but my feedback is something to consider. Now i see the problem that the law is changing lots of things and the basic answer to this is that people won't like it. The reasoning i don't like it is because youve had content free for ten years and all of a sudden it can't be free. It is unfair to supports that keep fakku alive. In other words fakku is going to lose and or die in the long run

Are there any plans to change the business model in the future or is it locked to subscriptions?
I'm not a fan of subscriptions. Give me hardcopies or DRM-free digital copies and I'll pay for that.

I mean I would love to support the artists and all of that. But why get rid of most of the free content (if not all)? The site needs something to entice people to subscribe. In addition, in a world where hentai and porn in general is free on every godamn site in the internet its not hard to find the same things I find in FAKKU or even more, it seems rather pointless to try and make all of the content legit. At least crunchyroll had the perfect conditions (rising of anime culture and had already became a reference page), people are not going to bother, specially if it leaves traces. I don't know about you, but I don't want to marked as the guy who paid for porn. Anyway, good luck it was a good run and if the site becomes succesful, good for you

I will not be supporting and I hope this cash grab teaches you what happens when you get too greedy. It's a sad thing to see after visiting this site for like 7 or 8 years, but not many people are going to pay for this specific niche of pornog, especially after the backlog of manga and doujin that we've all fapped to over the years is gone.
We all have been poor nerds who enjoyed the glory that was scans from Japan, so we could read and see things over here and around the world we'd otherwise not get to. It has always been a project of passion and compassion. There have been communities built around it even. You can say that you're doing it to expand or get more content, but I can google search half of the stuff that's been released to find it elsewhere. I sincerely hope you come to realize what you've done and where you came from. Until then, I'm sure people, including myself, will enjoy your paid content elsewhere.

Personally, I think this is the death of the site. You have, what, between 4 and 5 hundred articles on the site vs the thousands upon thousands you had before? You simply don't have enough content to keep people here.If you had managed to secure contracts to get more content here before the release, at least double what you've got now, I suspect you could have made it. Honestly, the only thing that I think might get you through this is that Fakku has the best god damned search function and user interface I've seen on all the sites I've been. Everywhere else is horrible. It's why this site has been my main source for for years, even before I made an account.
I would love to give you guys money, but... at the same time, the content I like doesn't get published a lot. That I and I fucking detest NTR which seems to have a new article every few days or so...

I just can't justify a subscription for stuff I don't like or hate. The lack of non-credit card options is also an issue. I don't do credit cards anymore since my card was stolen and saddled me with massive CC debt.
This place has been good to me, and I want to see it thrive, but I just don't foresee it happening. Too many people are just going to go to some other free site, regardless of the horrible UI and search functions, because it's free. Most people don't want to spend what little money they've got on hentai. Especially as lots of people don't even want to leave a paper trail. Sure, they've got one just for visiting the site, but an actual receipt of sale? That's more real and terrifying to them than internet history.
I'm going to stick around and lurk for a long time. I'll keep watch and see what happens, but I think this ship plotted it's course directly into a cliff side.

I don't know why you tell FAKKU, an American company about your third world problems. Yes, some countries dollar is far less valued, but that doesn't change an American company's costs and what they have to charge in order to make ends meet. If you had any particular talent I'd gift you a subscription if you promised one hour of work a week (Or even 2 hours/mo), but I just keep hearing moaning about how it'll fail because people can't fap for free anymore. Very solemnly do you see anyone posting about not having a payment option. I mean shit, gifting subs should be a thing too at some point. :P

Pass that then you should use the contact page and the people with editing power can fix your issue. The value of the dollar is a problem in this case, mainly because you are not saddles with any additional difficulties when making payments. the whole point of this issue with money transfers and credit cards results from the fact that non-North-American residents have trouble making the payments for various reasons. this discussion does not include those who do not want to pay, but those who would like to but are not able to. Just because you had the luck of being born where you were born does not mean you are allowed to bad-mouth people from different nations, especially since those people ask for help or clarification that only Americans can answer.

I for one would like to see one month option instead of an automatic subscription. Reason is Id rather let it expire if I forget about it instead of constantly pulling without me knowing. This way it makes me remember I have a subscription and actually use it. Works for me on the other things I have like this. That and the credit card only payment? Get paypal to do it based on a "Support Us!" account for recurring / one time(s) payment.
