The great downsizing of content on the site is disconcerting. While I am subscribing the loss of access to the vast majority of my favorites make me question why I have been supporting the site.
Surely there were less extreme courses of action that could have brought about the same results without this massive upheaval. Example include not hosting any new unlicensed material, then slowly phasing old material out at the same rate that new licensed material was added.
The catalog of books for sale and subscription magazines is now the only content on the site. Unless significant addition to the site content are added in the new few months I will be unlikely to continue my support.
Please consider reverse the complete removal of unlicensed material on the site until a point in time in which agreement could be made with the artist or publishers for licensing.

I'm still amazed that Wani didn't insist on them getting rid of it all when they first signed. Even though Wani's own content was purged, I'm surprised they would tolerate pirated material alongside their own licensed content. From where I'm sitting they were very patient.

I've always come to this site since it has always provided with my hentai needs, im really sad that so much content was lost but i really hope this site survives the transition. The subscription is a bit much so i hope you can find a way to find other prices for subscribing.
Have you tried making a poll of the artists people want back the most? It might make it easier to see which should be talked to first and brought back on Fakku.

Was supose to be 10$ even but the fees for credit card processing for porn is way higher then normal processing for non adult content.

1) Netflix has been around longer as a subscription service than us. They have hundreds of business contracts and hundreds of more employees than us.
2) Netflix is not an adult content provider and therefore does not have increased fees associated with charges that come associated with being a "high risk" merchant.
3) Netflix is not a comparable service to FAKKU. FAKKU is a publisher of adult comics from Japan, where we have to translate, redraw sound effects, typeset, color correct, etc. Where as Netflix cuts a deal with a media company and uploads some master video files to a server and adds some metadata.

Well, it's been fun, I guess. Kind of wondering why they simply couldn't have, wilst removing all the free content, just leaving a simple list of 'what had this person favourited' in the favourites in text-format (don't even need the pictures, frankly), but whatever. I have to terribly disagree with all of the defenders of the decision to monetize, it's an absolutely suicidal move in this market and in this day and age. It might fly with the "die-hards" and those willing to pay for porn (??) for about a year or two, but that's exactly that; people's interests will move on, the memories of "Free Fakku" will fade, and soon enough the core-group of people whom actually will pay will leave and there will be a desperate need to find new customers. Of course the people already here are going to pay; they've devoted their time to this site, and they love it because they've experienced it all free. It's a hard-sell trying to convince people on the Internet, the International and Universal Search-bar for Free Porn, to subscribe.
I'm sympathetic with the group of people here willing to subscribe; it's noble, it's loyalty in an environment of better options, and it shows that this site has some really good people on it, but as a decision for a business I'm convinced that this site has just signed its own death-warrant. It's going to be outright impossible to convince more people to join up on a service having a pay-wall to pornography, especially with other sites offering doujins, manga, videos, video-games, and so on for less or even still absolutely free. Going legit gives you solidarity, but solidarity does nothing in a land of contraband and infinite competition.
I'm not saying anything bad about Jacob or the team or anything, it's just my point of view as a guy who has lurked here for a while now, leaving stupid and snarky comments on doujins 'round the clock.

For the free stuff, well, it depends on how the pay structure works. You can always just have them ad-based for free users, sending the ad money to them to pay. Meanwhile, the paid subscribers get a portion of their subscription payment, based on what percentage of what they read for the month was free stuff, go to pay for the free stuff. Come to think of it, that's basically Crunchyroll's model.
Anyway, I hope you guys succeed. I really do. I'm not a subscriber presently for a number of reasons, but none of the reasons include my being upset at you going with a licensed, paid model. I think it's pretty great to have that option somewhere. Unfortunately, as I believe I've commented before, the majority of the stuff you have now isn't of much interest to me. I was mostly a doujinshi and yuri reader. Now that both of those are mostly gone and most of the new content coming in is straight vanilla manga, paying $12/mo for a subscription isn't something that seems reasonable to me.
Hopefully in the future it'll be a better prospect. Until then, I wish you luck!

I was a little bummed about Fakku removing all the unlicensed work, but I support their decision to go legit. We need more legal hentai in the US. The monthly fee seems a little high for the amount of content that gets released. But I'm willing to stick around for a while to see how the site goes. It would be awesome if you guys could also licenses hentai animes. There doesn't seem to be any legit streaming sites.

Others view it as manga with adult themes. The cool thing is, there are even some famous artists within the anime/manga industry who publish hentai content under different names.

People being paid for it is pretty much the main reason the stuff gets made. If you're not paying for it, then you're relying on others to. I would ask why you never intend to given this. You clearly have an interest. Why not support it?

Oh, certainly. You guys are pulling in a bit of diversity. I did say mostly, not all, but I suppose that sound like I'm not giving you guys any credit. I even saw you guys have 3 titles tagged for yuri in your subscription pool! Mind you, they're all group sex pieces where the yuri looks like it's basically the girls spending a bit of time with each other while clearly being there for the guy they're going to/are taking turns with. None of them are purely yuri (as in a girl getting together purposefully with another girl instead of happening to have a bit of sex with a girl in the course of being there for a guy) but it's progress! Baby steps are the first steps!
