Welcome! This is the help, feedback and bug report thread for FAKKU Reader. FAKKU Reader has been built with both desktop and mobile platforms in mind, and aims to provide a native-like experience on both of these. This means that you will need a decent enough browser to run it - latest Chrome, Firefox and IE11/IE10 should do on the desktop, Chrome should serve you well on both Android (4+) and iOS (7+). Now, you'll probably want to know how it works. Read on to learn about the User Interface, Controls, and User Settings. Index Mode Depending on what you're reading, the Index Mode can either give you a Thumbnail View: Or a Chapter View: (However, if neither thumbnails nor chapters are available, index mode will be disabled and won't be accessible.) Keyboard Up / Down, W / S: Scroll up / Scroll down Left / Right, A / D: Scroll left / Scroll right / At page edges: Previous Page / Next Page (or vice versa if using Right to Left UI controls) Page Up / Page Down: Previous Page / Next Page Home / End: Previous Chapter / Next Chapter Q / E: Previous Chapter / Next Chapter (or vice versa if using Right to Left UI controls) Space: Next Page Enter: Show / Hide UI F: Enter / Exit Fullscreen Mode C: Enter / Exit Free Scroll Mode Touch Swipe Left / Right: Previous Page / Next Page (or vice versa if using Right to Left UI controls) Tap: Show / Hide UI Double Tap: Zoom In / Out Pinch In / Out: Zoom In / Out UI Control Direction Determines how directional page change commands work. As you might know, most content on FAKKU is read right to left, so with this you can also make for example the arrow keys work so that left goes forward and right goes back, etc. The available options are Left to Right, Right to Left or Use Content Direction - the last one simply means that the controls will be left to right for content that is read left to right, and right to left for content that is read right to left. You can also change this setting on the fly on the first page of everything by moving into either direction, and the reader will follow suit. Try it out! Page Display Mode Determines how pages are displayed. If you like to view two pages side by side, then Two Pages When Possible is the option you're looking for. By default the reader uses Singles With Spreads, which displays one page at a time unless the action spans across two pages, like so: Besides there, there is also the option for Single Pages Only, which does exactly what it says on the tin - as such, the above kind of two page spreads will be shown as two separate single pages. Fit to Width if Overwidth Enabled by default and does exactly what it says - it scales the image down to fit width if it would be too big otherwise. Very useful when using the Original Size or Fit Height Page Scaling options! The subsetting But Not When Viewing Two Pages will suppress this behavior when the reader is displaying two pages at a time, and is enabled by default as well. Set Current Zoom Level as Default If you've used zooming on a page, you can use this button to set your current zoom level as the default page scaling. This will change the page scaling method to Set Height with the appropriate Target Height set to your current zoom level. Mouse Dragging Speed One of the ways to scroll the pages in the reader is by click-dragging them with the mouse. This setting controls the speed of said dragging. Default 1.0, with a range of 0.50-2.00. Scroll Wheel Sensitivity Controls the scroll speed of both mouse scroll wheels as well as (two-finger) touchpad scrolling on laptops. Default 1.25, with a range of 0.50-2.50. Version Information At the bottom of the Settings menu you can see version information on the reader and the device you're currently using. When reporting issues it is highly recommended that you copy and paste this string into your report.

I can "navigate" and see preview for the next page, but then it loads a white page again. Things appear to work in Safari.

We can't replicate this with Chrome on OSX/macOS on our end, so it's hard to say where exactly the issue might lie. Is your Chrome up to date? Have you tried reinstalling it? Can you open up the reader settings and copypaste the text in the footer ("FAKKU Reader running on...") here?

Anyway, for the time being I recommend sticking to Safari if it's working there while we try to figure this out.

haven't seen any announcement that Fakku are doing other language, but it is Fakku plans to make work available in other language.

Recently every time you click on"Read Online" it guides you right to the first page of the story instead of the thumbnail gallery (like it was previously).
Can we get an option in the settings to determine if we want to start reading right away or want to see the gallery first?
Also: Can we get an option to turn of the preview pages underneath the story?

I found a bug related to deleting collections. After deleting a collection by clicking Edit Collection > Delete Collection, the link for it still exists within the list of collections within our profile.

When clicking the deleted collection, it will redirect to a page that says "Page not found". I don't believe that the link should still exist within our profile after deletion.

I've tried logging out and logging back in on both Mozilla and Chrome, but the issue still persists.

Never mind, the problem just fixed itself. I guess the interface just refreshed itself or something.

The "Go to index" button (in order to see thumbnails) doesn't work with doujinshi.

I use Firefox. I tried with subscription chapters and books and it works.

Reader should have options to read every chapter of specific artist like when we read a book and to read whole magazine without having to go back and select specific chapter again.

Quick question How do I use the spoiler on a image in the forums? I tried [spoiler)[img][/img](/spoiler] tried other methods but either the image is fully shown or just the text of the link

So I use a tablet and when I click read it just jumps to the first page. I was wondering if there was a way to switch it back to thumbnail veiw first, and if there is how do I do it?

Not gonna happen both apple and google do not allow adult content/apps on their app store.

only way round it is to sideload it
so for
apple: the iphone/tablet will need to be jailbroken and then loaded.
android: just go into setting and allow app not from the store to be installed.

i believe their is a desktop app in the works

go into setting and somewhere (should be under security) there should be option to allow install of apps that are not from the app store, something like this

Spoiler:

may be worded differently, depending on phone.

download a file explorer from the google app store.
find the apps you want and download them, if you do this on your phone they will be downloaded to the download folder,
if you do this on your PC/laptop then plug your phone in and drag the file over to your phone.

then use the file explorer to find the file and open it this should lead to a message saying do you want to install.

sorry what I meant was is there a way to get to go to thumbnail veiw right when you hit the read online button, without having to use the button at the top? p.s. I'm not good at this forum chat stuff.

A minor update has been released for the reader. If you were having issues on Android with Chrome 56, the problems should now be fixed.

Besides this, there's been a minor change with touch controls: you can no longer tap the sides to change pages - instead tapping anywhere will always just toggle the visibility of the UI. From now on, you should always use swiping to change pages. This will hopefully reduce unwanted page changes when trying to toggle the UI or when zooming via double tapping.

I am sorry, can this feature be a section in settings to toggle on/off, personally speaking I just want to tap, not swipe.
