Welcome! This is the help, feedback and bug report thread for FAKKU Reader. FAKKU Reader has been built with both desktop and mobile platforms in mind, and aims to provide a native-like experience on both of these. This means that you will need a decent enough browser to run it - latest Chrome, Firefox and IE11/IE10 should do on the desktop, Chrome should serve you well on both Android (4+) and iOS (7+). Now, you'll probably want to know how it works. Read on to learn about the User Interface, Controls, and User Settings. Index Mode Depending on what you're reading, the Index Mode can either give you a Thumbnail View: Or a Chapter View: (However, if neither thumbnails nor chapters are available, index mode will be disabled and won't be accessible.) Keyboard Up / Down, W / S: Scroll up / Scroll down Left / Right, A / D: Scroll left / Scroll right / At page edges: Previous Page / Next Page (or vice versa if using Right to Left UI controls) Page Up / Page Down: Previous Page / Next Page Home / End: Previous Chapter / Next Chapter Q / E: Previous Chapter / Next Chapter (or vice versa if using Right to Left UI controls) Space: Next Page Enter: Show / Hide UI F: Enter / Exit Fullscreen Mode C: Enter / Exit Free Scroll Mode Touch Swipe Left / Right: Previous Page / Next Page (or vice versa if using Right to Left UI controls) Tap: Show / Hide UI Double Tap: Zoom In / Out Pinch In / Out: Zoom In / Out UI Control Direction Determines how directional page change commands work. As you might know, most content on FAKKU is read right to left, so with this you can also make for example the arrow keys work so that left goes forward and right goes back, etc. The available options are Left to Right, Right to Left or Use Content Direction - the last one simply means that the controls will be left to right for content that is read left to right, and right to left for content that is read right to left. You can also change this setting on the fly on the first page of everything by moving into either direction, and the reader will follow suit. Try it out! Page Display Mode Determines how pages are displayed. If you like to view two pages side by side, then Two Pages When Possible is the option you're looking for. By default the reader uses Singles With Spreads, which displays one page at a time unless the action spans across two pages, like so: Besides there, there is also the option for Single Pages Only, which does exactly what it says on the tin - as such, the above kind of two page spreads will be shown as two separate single pages. Fit to Width if Overwidth Enabled by default and does exactly what it says - it scales the image down to fit width if it would be too big otherwise. Very useful when using the Original Size or Fit Height Page Scaling options! The subsetting But Not When Viewing Two Pages will suppress this behavior when the reader is displaying two pages at a time, and is enabled by default as well. Set Current Zoom Level as Default If you've used zooming on a page, you can use this button to set your current zoom level as the default page scaling. This will change the page scaling method to Set Height with the appropriate Target Height set to your current zoom level. Mouse Dragging Speed One of the ways to scroll the pages in the reader is by click-dragging them with the mouse. This setting controls the speed of said dragging. Default 1.0, with a range of 0.50-2.00. Scroll Wheel Sensitivity Controls the scroll speed of both mouse scroll wheels as well as (two-finger) touchpad scrolling on laptops. Default 1.25, with a range of 0.50-2.50. Version Information At the bottom of the Settings menu you can see version information on the reader and the device you're currently using. When reporting issues it is highly recommended that you copy and paste this string into your report.

(first ever post here because in need of help)
today i took another subscrpition for a month but then when i open the reader i just keep saying loading and it does this with ever manga.

if someone here would lik to help me that would be great :)

I'm having the same issue, stuck on loading screen with different browsers with different doujins.

Can we get an option to hide the preview pages? There were gone for some time for all logged in subscribers, but are now back...

There is still an issue when you try to open a book chapter from the Chapter Page that it still can't load the book.

However if you go to the Main book page it opens just fine.

Also this doesn't affect all books like Renai Sample is not affected and Porno Switch either.

I am still experiencing an issue when I open new manga, the manga is just stuck on "loading". I've tried this on both my wifi and data, it is still stuck in loading.

My fakku subscription just stopped suddenly, the month hasn't ended and I set it to renew every month, so I'm kind of my profile says I'm a subscriber as well yet I can't access any subscription stuff

I recently got Samsung Tab S3 and when reading manga in full screen mode, the time, battery level, and the wireless icon keep showing. I don't notice this much on my phone but it's annoying on the tablet.

the "2 pages when possible" mode broke for the vast majority of magazine chapters a bit over a month ago from what I can tell.

magazine chapters start with page 1 by itself on the left, before becoming two page spreads until the last page which is a single page on the right side. When you have two pages side by side, the gutter is in the middle of the two pages so that it's readable when the physical magazine is bound. Sometimes, artists will put big reveals on the right-side page so you don't accidentally spoil yourself by glancing over when you have the book open to two pages.

It appears the default changed to page 1 and 2 facing each other instead of page 1 by itself and pages 2 and 3 facing each other.

This doesn't appear to be the case on chapters that have 2 page spreads because I guess the reader will start with 2 pages that have to face each other and work its way in pairs to the beginning/end of the chapter.

But it's worth noting that for non-magazine chapters (doujinshi/books/digital-first releases), the page parity may be different due to cover pages, etc. so if the only way to change page parity is with double page spreads, you should make it a feature request to be able to set the parity, I suppose.

tl;dr: most magazine chapters in "two pages when possible" mode should be 1, 2-3, 4-5, etc. but the majority of them today are 1-2, 3-4, etc.

This is still a problem, btw. It's exacerbated when a chapter has improperly flagged two page spreads because opening in "two pages when possible" mode will split the spread in half

When/Why did you start romanizing "shi" as "si"? I always dislike when I come across that way of romanization.

We don't unless the author prefers it stylized that way. Siokonbu for instance was a direct request from the author.

On mobile, every time I would go into full screen, then turn the page, the address/tool bars would collapse back down, as if it weren't in full screen. But the viewer would still be in full screen mode, thus parts of the page are overlapped by the browser bars. I was using Opera version 43.0.2246.121183.
