Say for example, have an area where people apply, so basically, have like a limit of 300 posts minimum or something, and they have to write out an application and be accepted by a moderator, so basically, if you are on the list, you can post there, otherwise you can't..

So maybe have a group like Role players. Use that for people who are accepted or something... It's commonly used in minecraft servers.. but yeah, i'm sure you could use it in this instance

I don't think any sort of prerequisite would be necessary aside from a well-built and accepted character sheet (which should be the troll defense anyhow because fake characters are obvious). I would like such a section to attract new people, not deter them away. Even if most of my posts are TL;DR, if new people want to play and learn, I would love them to. I'll be making an RP forum poll post in Random soon, just had a lot on my plate with holidays/winter classes beginning/and the writing contest with reading all the entries.

By the by, that is a great guide that Noel edited and brought up. It would make a good use to be stickied if any kind of RP section is to come about.

No need to have an application for it like that. Some people could just be learning and such and still want to try it out.

It would be better to just have it be opt in. As in you have to ask permission for it and if you violate the rules you would just be taken off.

Of course that would require some coding and effort to implement so I don't know about the need for it either. I think people are really overestimating how much trolling is going to be going on in the section. And honestly, it would be easy to ignore the majority of it while it gets taken care of.

I suppose we could hold a trial run of it.. and if it gets trolled bad, just chuck in a white list.

the report button is always an option.

No kidding. Sometimes I think I'm one of the only ones that uses that feature.

If things do go awry, you can help the staff notice it faster by simply reporting it.
