Odds are you're seeing what you want to see when it was most likely more normal than you think, pedophiles tend to do whatever it is they do in private. You watching them for such a long time seems like the more creepy part of your story.

Sounds normal to me. When the car is full my nieces would sit on my lap (both of them are still in college). It's different in Asian culture. Two buddies can hold hands or put their arms around each other's shoulders and it would be normal, but in the states that would be considered gay.
