I could go for one of the hybrid mice that work as a wired mouse while charging. Wireless mice with a charging dock are out of the question, though, I see no reason for this kind of forced downtime when a better alternative exists. Still, I haven't really seen any need to use a wireless one in any case.

Mom actually offered me to let the company pay for it, but I just didn't find it reasonable for it to pay for a gaming mouse when they could have simply replaced the old one with a much cheaper regular one.
You can get them to pay for part of it.
