It's sad people will point out at bs like this and then claim every who disagrees with them is like this while dismissing any actual criticism towards any aspect or form of feminism.
Agreed. The concept is simple thou. Treat women with the same rights as men, but yet it seems to be a very difficult thing to do. Maybe because of the 'women are weaker than men' thing.
Last thing I remembered that would've made feminist smile a bit was the veteran home for women back in 2011 (I think).
Feminism is not about treating women with the same rights as men. It's not about equal rights. It's about improving womens rights and ignoring, and sometimes hindering, mens rights. You don't see feminists protesting alimony or trying to get women into military conscription. Feminists will talk about rape all day long but never mention the huge amount of false accusations of rape.
No it's not...not? You are describing the techniques used by every civil rights movement ever. The whole goddamned point is to change the reality of the discrimination faced by the underclass in question.
Any and everything beyond that is either raising awareness (so others can get a more honest take) or trolls trolling trolls. (my girlfriend calls it "tumblr")
This claim of "discrimination" against women seriously depends where you live. In most western countries women are not an underclass by any stretch, when the reality is that there are many areas where men are the underclass (specifically in USA) such as child custody, criminal convictions (men serve more time for same crimes) and forced military enrollment.
For many the biggest criticism of feminism is that they claim to be a movement for gender equality, when it is obvious that the movement solely focuses on womens issues.
I have nothing against a group that focuses on raising the awareness of issues women face, but don't disguise it as 'gender equality for both sexes.'
