So it turns out that my HDD uses a USB Board system rather than the usual SATA port adapted to USB like on most external hard drives, meaning it's not gonna be as simple as taking some parts out and plugging it into my desktop(in fact, it's gonna be near impossible for me to figure this out). I'm going to sulk in the corner now.
