2. Maybe it offensive, but that doesn't mean much. Maybe you haven't personally seen it, but it does happen.
3. Again, some people don't care about being PC, or at least around people they know and like.
4. You again seem to take the individual out, and are are to blame the giant group of people definitely don't have the same reason for disliking something.
If you had bad personal experiences with people who were hyper sensitive about the word when you used it, well that sucks for you.

Those who do- there's my grief- it'll jump around. Call them Nigger and they punch you in the face- only to turn around and greet their friend with the very same word.
You cannot make a case for logic in there.
I know it hypocrisy to be offended by a generally demeaning word when an outsider who you aren't familiar calls you that, especially when you turn around and say it to those you know, but in a different context.
I mean, yeah, the double standard is still there, but you've already explained why it exist yourself several times.
I laughed at that Nazi joke. I probably wouldn't do the same in public though.
I don't doubt that some may call each other terrible things when joking around, but "Nigger" is the only one that I can think of that is used to address someone normally. (Sometimes "Bitch", but- like I'm saying with Nigger, here- it's been circulated around so frequently and casually that it simply doesn't have much bite to it anymore).
4. I do focus upon vast swathes of people, simply because I don't think personal, anecdotal experiences makes for a solid backing when discussing broad, wide-reaching subjects.
I know why the double-standard is there, I simply find it kinda dumb that it continues to persist, and isn't something that I've heard brought up before.
