Rage me a Ramsus retold

As some of you know I plan on retelling some stories, things that happened during the adolescence of our forums, events that helped shape these hallowed halls we call home. For some of you these tales might simply be a walk down memory lane while to others I might be bringing you into the fold, making you a part of a community you've not quite connected with. Whatever the outcome, I thank you for reading and hope you enjoy your stay, both in this thread and on Fakku.

Before I begin I would like to link you to my previous work, which was made years ago.

To start this story I need to briefly explain who Ramsus is and my connection to him. We both started out on Fakku about the same time, so early 2008. We had very similar posting styles as we met in Random(IB didn't exist), he and I would joke, and play off each other, while offending as few people as possible. We were similar at that time so when I started to change(into the monster I can be) we began to drift apart. I'm under no illusions, my evolution is the reason our friendship started to wane. It's not like we were hostile to one another at this point, I kept to IB while he spent most of his time in Random. I can honestly say he was one of my first Fakku friends, event earlier than Jake; all of that changed.

At this point I was made section mod of IB, my posting style remained very much the same and Ramsus began to post less(nothing to do with me I believe). This is when Ramsus decided he wanted to be relevant again, not that I fault him, I simply believe he picked an odd way to do it. He created a thread aimed at almost everyone in IB, calling many out by name. The first reaction of IB was almost global praise, he said what many already thought and felt. However a few posts later those who saw the thread for what it truly was(attempt to regain relevance) began to speak. It turned into a shitfest of insults, and argument between certain users(I had fun).

A few months after Ramsus's failed attempt to "fix Fakku" I was made global mod. This is when the "rage me a Ramsus" incident started. The man came up with an idea, he should start a thread where people could describe themselves in Random or SD. It was pointed out fairly quickly by Tegumi that his idea was lazy and pointless as it should be something done privately, which was followed up by a other users who disliked the idea. How did Ramsus react to the criticism? Did he simply tell those who did not want to be part of it to avoid the thread? No, he attacked all those he felt spoke ill of his idea while simultaneously reporting all those he felt were "attacking" his idea including Temugi(which made me laugh). As some of you know I tend to dislike when others attack users for no reason, only I can do such a thing and only when I have a valid reason(like them acting stupid). So I jumped in putting my weight behind Tegumi's points and commencing an argument. Eventually the thread(which was like 50% arguing at this point) no longer deserved to be in Random or SD so I moved it to IB. I would admit this was a fairly grey area move as a moderator, to argue in a thread only to move it because of the amount of arguing but to be fair I probably should have moved the thread from the beginning as something forum related doesn't belong in either Random or SD. This action caused what we now refer to as raging a Ramsus, he started attacking me(and others he felt liked me) in every thread I posted in(way too long ago to find).

It was pretty amusing to be honest as I wasn't going to be fired simply because he didn't agree with my actions as a moderator. So really this was a wonderful chance for me to argue while amusing myself deleting someone's ridiculous reports against me(other mod saw them).

This was the 2nd story and probably one of the oldest noteworthy things I can remember. As I get further in these stories I'd like to ask other users to post what they remember, for example the slayer nexus story would be nice with some of his perspective. Feels free to correct me on anything, many of these stories are 5+ years old and the memories not what it used to be. If anyone does remember this stuff dont hesitate to comment, it might be pretty funny(even if it's hate for me).

Also, now that you made this thread, I'm curious about that recent Ramsus impostor that (probably) got banned a while ago for being a complete troll. (Is he banned yet?)

That wasn't actually Ramsus, right? You would probably be the one to know, since from what you said you knew him pretty well.

That title could be the perfect album name. Also, that was a pretty interesting read.

Good read. Kind of lol'd at the section in Ramsus's first thread where everyone started getting into an intense discussion about rep. But I guess that was back when it was 1 rep a day.

Hoo, I remember Ramsus having sort of a meltdown, and pretty much disappearing immediately after. There was something happening with HentaiElder too, I believe. I don't remember most of it though, I have bad memory.


If it was then it was a very out-of-character Ramsus.

That explains this guy and his Formerly who? threads.

I remember this. I didn't actively participate but I was one of those guys who saw the thread get posted and there were no replies yet.

Needless to say, Ramsus can be hot-headed sometimes. I can tell the story of how much he hated me at some point but I don't think that would do any good.

Props for writing the story, though.

If one thing, though, I think you became global mod much, much later.

I do enjoy reading these threads of the good ol' times. Even if I wasn't present during it.

Neat. By the time I joined and was lurking this shit had already hit the fan, so it's interesting to finally read about this.

By the time I was a regular he'd been banned. All I know is he was popular for some reason, apparently was the one who drew IB-tan and liked lamias.

Not really classified, it disappeared in the crash. I mentioned coco-tan is the next story.
