And from what I've seen,
ea's customer service isn't that bad... They've fixed the game, it's running perfectly... they're giving out a free game to those who bought sim city on launch.
I haven't experienced any other customer service shit with them, though. Can't comment on anything else.
I will say, simcity was worth the wait. The only issue is the download usage, which affects me a tonne. Waiting for the drm free crack
Besides, the whole simcity thing, about 90% of the things people complained about were people being retarded. Everything refund related was people being retarded, and not thinking. Servers were full from the beginning (as said), updates sometimes failed (as said)... But, the server issues are all fixed.
But, this one of the first ea games I've bought in a while (besides mass effect 2)
1. Yes it is bad.
2. Digital copies don't cost them much especially when those copies aren't even full versions of the games.
3. Always online DRM is anti consumer, supporting such practices makes you a cancerous faggot.
4. They've done much worse than SimCity, and will continue to do so.
I like this, makes it easier to pick points
1. Probably. As I said, i haven't seen anything bad yet (having said that, I haven't really talked to them. tried to at some point, but they were pretty flooded, as you'd expect from the launch day. Was trying to fix something on origin, which is shit) But, they fixed the servers pretty fast, and are apparently giving free games, which seems decent (again, no idea on other aspects)
2. I don't get what you mean? The digital copies were the full game? (unless you're talking in general, then maybe. For simcity they are the full game, as far as I'm aware) Besides that, people wanted refunds for something that doesn't work, but will soon. Not only that, the codes are attached to their origin account/ people could have written the code down (this being for returning physical copies or something for a refund). which, if they were allowed to do that, I imagine there'd be a few people who'd buy it, get the code, return it, and sell the code for money, or something.
As for the people getting banned for getting money back from the bank, that is also pretty fair. They are essentially stealing the money back (too tired to try and go into that further... can't remember the points)
3. I never said I support it... I said it's shit, and I don't like it/ am waiting for the drmfree patch. It chews through my quota, and is annoying
4. True and true. My main anger being for the need for speed series at it's current state
