I wish I had taken the regular astronomy class now, instead of fucking astrophysics. =n=
l-lol, why is that? astrophysics is infinitely fascinating as well ~ i've actually only had a physics class, nothing about astronomy or anything yet. :c maybe someday.
Because as fascinating as astronomy and the study of space itself is, this is still astro-PHYSICS. Meaning, angles, numbers, and all that shit.
...and... how do you ever verify whatever you learn in that astronomy without 'all that shit'?
I do agree, that having both is great, learning is never a bad thing. But for a lot of things certain scientist can't do, it can be given to others who specialize in the subject. Multiple teams can work on different aspects of a project, so I think you can get away without having astrophysics. Discovery one person, verification another. Like Lenards job of verifying hypothesis by other people, in the tv show "big bang theory".
On another note.... Stars are not for looking at, their for reaching! I will never be content till we make active pursuits to a outlaw star-like interest in space. I'm happy we have gotten to the point of commercializing space travel, but it's not enough, we need space colonies!
