1.Ak-47 (the m16a1 jams alot might get you killed some point but the newer ones like a3 and a4 are good)

Girlfriend. Since I study in a University filled with girls, so no fucking problem.
TAR-21. Reliability + Ease of operation = win.
And oh, it's also STANAG compliant.
If we're talking about traditional ARs, I'll go with the FN SCAR. Since the STANAG Mags are common these days in both NATO and non-NATO members, It'll be easier for a combatant to forage for ammo from dead enemy combatants or allies.

Galil. Easy access to 5.56x45mm NATO rounds + Ruggedness (The rifle itself was based on the AK)
