Speaking of the showing-off event, here is mine with Sakuya B for my first attempt:

I'm not sure if it was just because I've never been good, or even decent in Touhou games because 90% of my deaths were caused by slight burping, as in unnecessary movements or the game is just rather difficult. Aside from those two, it's probable that Sakuya's Time Square is up for blame since it looks slightly worse than its counterpart in PCB, from my perspective.

End-note: Sekibanki and Kagerou have great themes.

So in DDC I've been using Sakuya A and managed to get to Seija 4 or 5 times but she kept annihilating me when she flipped the screen. It was when it went upside down that it really messed me up. I need some serious practice on that stage. I beat her as a main boss just once and got onto the next stage and died instantly.

Not sure if I should be using spoilers or not...

This is my 2nd attempt playing DDC, now using player-friendly Reimu A.

I managed to push the last boss to her 4th spellcard before dying. If I had to put a special mention here, I'd have to say that the 5th boss flipped my sanity good, literally.

I should limit my attempts to two only by this morning. Mein brain cannot handle all the action DDC provided. So far, I really enjoy what ZUN did for this game.



Ah, the flipper. Yes, she was quite an adversary. It messed me up more when the sides got reversed, like my 5 life points got eviscerated in 3 seconds interval. Don't you find the 4th boss' lasers heart-wrenching? It reminds me of Shou in UFO, and she is the 5th boss in one of the more difficult games, UFO. Cannot believe I had to concentrate on diagonal lasers in such early level.

Please don't worry about spoilers as everyone here will play it eventually.

GAH!!!!!!! I hate the fact that Flan-chan isn't in it, even as an extra stage character... But I hate the 5th stage boss even more. damn freaking flipping of the screen gets me killed every single time....

Regarding the compatibility issues on Soku, have you guys tried SokuRoll? I played a lot of Soku with this fag Grenouille using it.

We didn't experience any issues whatsoever. No delays, no hiccups, no disconnects. Also, Gren was playing from Texas and I was playing from SEA, which are fairly far apart. We just ran Soku, then ran SokuRoll, exhanged IP's and used the built-in netplay. The matches ran smoothly as if I was playing solo.

Me and Harune did try, but to no avail. Is there any specific guide on how to use it?

While we're on this topic, I'd also need to know your average connection speed, as in download speed, upload speed, and ping latency. Feel free to use this application to measure it: http://www.speedtest.net/

Not that I know of. We just ran it after running Soku, then I gave my IP to gren who was hosting the match.

There is something to be fancied about when you have connection that is roughly 4x better than mine. With this kind of connection, I believe you can connect to everyone here with less to no problems.

Dying with 7 bombs is infuriating.

I got as far as you did with Marisa B... infuriating is not even the start of that emotion.

It also doesn't help that you lose so many lives to little things that escape your vision because your bomb lasts longer than your invincibility period.

After hours of practice, spell practice and rage(mostly rage), I finally 1cc'd DDC in normal mode.


Now for that extra stage...

...I hate you... lol.

Celebratory Marisa dump

Thank god you used a spoiler... otherwise Jen would have a fit...

You used MarisaB? I've been trying to beat it with SakuyaA... no luck so far... got to stage 5 boss though...

Yeah. MarisaB's "rocket" bullets felt like it did the most damage, and her bomb is pretty good. You can "hide" inside the big projectile once the invulnerability runs out, and not die for 10+ seconds. It was a life saver at stage 4.
