I got to the stage 6 main boss for the first time the other day on Normal. I've been using Sakuya A.

I quite like the ability to attempt farming lives and bombs at collection point in DDC.

... attempts that swept away more lives than it gave.

First run results :

So... as it turns out... if you choose a Protag with a weapon, you get Yatsuhashi as the mid-stage boss, and Benben as the Stage boss for stage 4. If you choose a protag without a weapon, you get Benben as the mid-stage boss, and Yatsuhashi as the stage boss.

Am I a bad Touhou fan for wanting to beat Genius of Sappheiros before touching DDC? D:

I'm at Stage 18, the Lakebed Temple... reminds me of the Water Temple in Ocarina of Time, but slightly more convoluted, as you have to divide your Touhous into 3 different parties to be able to proceed... 2 parties in Eientei was bad enough, 3 is borderline insane-- especially with the strong monsters that appear. -_____- I'm taking the safest route: make one full party, clean one path, then remake another full party from scratch and clear another path. This way, you can have two full parties clearing two paths and the odd one out can take it easy.

I got to the last spellcard on Stage 6 with SakuyaA... Freaking so damn close...

Finally just beat DDC for the first time, used all my continues though I think. Sukuna had a bunch of moves I wasn't expecting and she wiped my lives away. I used SakuyaA and played on Normal.

I was about to ask "What the hell does he mean when he says upcoming UFO and SA events?", but your text in white made that pretty clear. :3


My "Freudian ID" has a form now, and it's kinda scary... Seija Kijin. Freaking awesome.

Oh right, I tried out GoS yesterday and I've been playing it for a while now [size=9](more like, non-stop)[/h]. This game is awesome, best fanmade touhou game I played so far.

The wiki does a great job explaining the walkthrough. For normal battles, just blow everything on everyone then go back and heal. It takes like 3-4 re-entries into the dungeons for all the enemies to respawn, so you can take it easy as you clear dungeons. There are a few exceptions when you go balls-deep into the dungeon and there's no easy way to turn back, but if you lvl diligently and know how to apply your POW, you can ration your MP to last you for a good long while.

Be ready to rage at certain bosses, though...

..I actually went and dragged myself through every dungeon without healing. I rationed my MP for as long as possible, then proceeded to tediously whack the rest of the enemies when it ran out (Mokou's formation helped a lot). I didn't know it took that many re-entries for enemies to respawn. welp.



Yup. Yuyuko wiped out my party for like 10+ times.

I think it actually depends on each dungeon, but I know that from my experience, you don't get ALL the respawns when you exit and reenter once-- and even then, I noticed a difference between going to Reimu's to heal as opposed to entering a nearby dungeon to use its circle... as in, going to Reimu's doesn't seem to trigger respawns as often as entering other dungeons does.

It's gonna take a while to beat, but the game is extremely enjoyable (outside of the fact that I personally enjoy the challenge, just like Labyrinth of Touhou), but you can't let up on your offense or your defense once: it only takes one or two Instant Deaths, two Paralyzes + not being able to run away and everything goes south. >< That's why I go the safe route and blow up everything on every encounter, then go back, heal, then go at it again.

Went to check this, and actually worked, so gave a try to check this thread again.

It's all about the strategy. For Kaguya, have Byakuren in your party and max out her IND via items and her own buff, then attempt to 'control' Kaguya. This way, she can buff and heal YOUR party, and it's a 6v1 against Eirin. Be careful, though: each instance of Control (or any Permanent status, for that matter) becomes increasingly hard to land the more successful you are, so you will also have to reduce her RES at some point to be able to keep her under Control.

I killed a ton of yukkuris before I got my medal, and I was wrong: it's only 10% more exp for the person who has it equipped, not the whole party... they come in large groups later in the game, so having multi-attackers like Sakuya or Nitori (her last POW Gun skill is 4-8 hits) is essential-- even if not for yukkuris, they can still rape everything else.

After the Yukkuri Sisters, you will find the Marisa Yukkuri (roughly 10k exp each, starting in Stage 15) for the rest of the game until the last dungeon, where you may find the Yukkuri King (30k exp, 10 hp). If you get stuck at some point let me know...

Ah, I've already beaten Kaguya, my quote was a couple days late because of the thread bug. I used the control trick on her too. I also have a yukkuri medal equipped on Youmu now, Youmu and Sakuya killed most of the yukkuris I encountered.

Apparently equipping the [+party exp] items (lucky shoe, lucky hat, etc) on your party's commander will still give the bonus effect. Same goes with the gamer fan's drop rate bonus.

I encountered a Marisa yukkuri on stage 15 but it ran away before I even had the chance..

This needs a bump, while I delete the other thread.

Just got back from my trip, let's see how my danmaku skills have been affected.

My Genius of Sappheiros has encountered a bug! D=

EDIT: Fixed it! Went to the Save folder and noticed that the Backups were all the way stacked to 999-- meaning, that I had stepped on those circles 999 times already before beating the game. What I did was delete everything EXCEPT the one file that is all in Japanese, as that is your ACTUAL save file... you will probably only have to do this once, but before I knew this happened, I was extremely distraught. I'm sure you would be bothered too, if your 50+ hours of gameplay were in jeopardy. >:
