I was surprised he passed. I thought there was no way he'd die. That'd just be too cruel. But alas it happened. I hope everyone will always remember his work since he was such a talented animator. Dead Fantasy 2 was the first thing I ever saw from him and it's my favorite work of his still

Sad day, I first saw Monty's Dead Fantasy videos at Anime Boston years and years ago. I'll be listening along to that podcast for sure. Really awesome seeing the community come out to support the family.

Hospitals are some of the worse places to be if you're trying to avoid getting sick.
So I dunno what caused his allergic reaction, but with how compromised his immune system ended, it's sadly was only a matter of time.

Why is it that the famous people I respect are the ones who die.

RIP Monty. I remember watching one of his first works, Samus vs MC, and thought that it was beautiful. His other works, such as Dead Fantasy and of course, RWBY, were also really great. Sad to hear that he has passed away.
