Waifu Game X - News/Discussion

Okay, here to ruin the fun. Not really, but I think this is getting a bit out of hand. Voicing my thoughts, agree with them or shit on them as you wish.

I think the whole NTR thing is insane. Even more so that you actually have to pay some sort of cost to opt out of it. The way I see it, the whole thing is only good for being a dick about someone's pick, or that you couldn't accept the fact that you lose what is an otherwise completely fair race. Maybe you do feel NTR'd when others, randoms especially, 'steals' your pick by having the data of their posts received by the server microseconds before yours, but in all aspects the race is fair and he wins it fair. Losing sucks, I very much agree, but that's exactly why winning is nice. That we're discussing how to implement a rule that screams denial and/or dickishness simply doesn't sit right with me.

On that note, I don't really care having to sacrifice some slots to opt out of it. If that's what I gotta do, then that's what I'll do. The only waifu that I care enough to claim every round as my first has been the same for quite a long time already. But the fact that you guys seem completely cool with this crap seems terribly queer to me, thus the post.

I'm kind of disappointed TMS isnt running the game but with art what could possibly go wrong?

Hey, like I said, I'm trying to make this fun for as many people as possible. Yes, TMS may have been a troll pick, but his NTR ideas are interesting when you realize that, yes as oneshott says, this IS a game. So now, I want to try my best to bring some more fun into this game.

Fuck, I'm outta town for 3 weeks with no internet.. Probably gonna sit this one out, unless my gals remain unclaimed for 3 weeks.

While I have already communicated some of this to Art directly, huge surprise by the way that he is running it, I am going to post my thoughts here for everyone else.

Starting with the big topic, NTR, The perfect line for me to describe how I feel is, Im not against others doing ntr, Im just against me doing it. Basically the only thing I want in regards to the ntr is the ability to not take part in it. I think giving up waifu slots in order to be not be part of the ntr could be a reasonable thing, but I would say no lower then 3. So ntr players get 5 waifus non ntr players get 3.

For post count I am torn between 50 posts and 150 posts. I believe Praetor pointed out that any one that had an account long enough got 150 posts for free. Even if they were just a lurker. But at the same time new players would find it difficult to join. I am worried that if the post count is too low then newfags will pop in claim a waifu and then disappear. But the game should appeal to new players so Im not sure.

The idea of rewards for waifu loyalty sounded really interesting to me. Im not sure exactly what could be done with that but I think something should be done. I mean I have already gotten to the point where I always picture certain users with certain waifus. Im sure Im not the only one either. I think we should pursue this farther.

As for how often the game should be played I think too often isn't really good cuz then you don't have your waifus for very long. If there is 5 rounds and each round was a week thats a month or more long. The only thing I can think of is doing it by seasons. Winter game, spring game, summer game, fall game. But thats only if you wanted to do the game more often. I am perfectly fine with just having a Winter game and a Summer game.

This could be remedied, as mentioned earlier, by having reclaims every alternating game.

So if it was going by seasons, you would claim in the spring then not have a reclaim until fall right? The summer game would have no reclaims

This sounds like a good idea but only if the game is running an even amount of times each year, ideally 4. The game being played more often gives certain users another chance at getting Waifus they may not have got in the last game and reclaims mean you won't lose any Waifus you don't want to.

I kinda like this idea. It could be implemented the same as NTR, you lose 1 waifu slot but you get to choose one waifu who can't be NTR'd.

It would work but it's slightly more disadvantageous than just opting out all together as only one of your waifus is protected and you can claim one less Waifu. BUt I suppose if you only really care about one then it makes sense.

Or you can just not be part of the ntr at all. I think if you want to ntr then you have to fully expose your waifus to the possibility of ntr. Thats only fair. If you don't want that then don't take part in the ntr

I think NTR should only be available in the 4th round and the first week of the 5th round. This gives users their first three waifus and then after they have claimed those they can decide whether to opt out or not or if there is still I waifu they want to claim or steal. What would really suck is if in the final part of the 5th round where everything is petering out you got NTRd which is why I think only being able to NTR for two weeks makes more sense.

Given that three rounds last 3 weeks, and the last two last a total of 4 weeks, give us a 7 weeks for an entire waifu game. Given that a season is ideally 3 months, then it wouldn't be too far-fetched an idea to have a game every season. Any objections, people?

Anyone who wishes to NTR, must themselves be NTRable. Immunity from being NTRed means inablity to NTR.

Uhh... slight correction. Both rounds 4 and 5 last 2 weeks each, so you'd be NTRing for 3 weeks total. Second, letting people back off early seems too... safe. It would probably also discourage a lot users who plan on NTRing certain waifus if you can opt out right before round 4 starts.

3 weeks sounds like a decent amount of time. How about you have to declare your Opting out before the start of round 3 then. It gives the NTR players a week to strategize and decide and gives the people opting out 2/3 of their and have most of their line up to know who they're protecting are worth sacrificing the ability to NTR and another 2 claims.

I love that 'X' in the title. Sounds extreme.

EDIT: Referring to the 4 games per year scheme, I feel that it's too many. 3 seems good for me.

I was actually thinking more like, decide to opt out BEFORE the game starts, but for the life of me, I can't think of what the consequences would be for that.

You make a whole other thread or people could pm you if they want to be part of the ntr or not. And that happens before the game starts as you mentioned. Those players should be displayed on a list so everyone knows that they are not part of the ntr. And wasn't the "consequences" going to be that you get 2 less waifus?
