It was bad and people should feel bad for liking it. If I wanted symbolism, I'd just read Orwell.
This guy gets it, if he's not trolling. I didn't like it but those of you attempting to interpret a 'meaning' about it seem like pseudo-intellectuals. Sometimes you have to take a step back and say 'It exists and that's all there is to it.
Saying that is an utter cop out. Are you saying we shouldn't try to understand the creator's intentions behind anything? That's like reading a poem and saying "Well that clearly only has a literal meaning." I expect better of you Andre.
I don't care about what you 'expect' of me. I never said to take everything at face value, Im saying there is no reason to discussing tits, ass, annoying techno music, and the dream of an otaku intelligently like it's worth a damn. Who cares what it means? The fact people are trying to defend this thing with several paragrphs is laughable. This isn't 'Serious Discussion', it's an animation exposition.
1. Just because you don't care what it means doesn't mean others should either. Don't be a faggot like that. That's akin to Ant not getting what Tool songs are really about.
2. It's an animation exposition that debuted at Anima(tor) Expo. Not Comiket or some other pr0n convention or something. I'm gonna assume by the name that it's meant to be about animation in general, its quality and how it is as a medium of storytelling (probably similar to how Sundance Film Festival is for film). It's because of that very reason that anyone defending MeMeMe is doing so: because they realize it's most likely not meant to be just some tits, ass and techno.
And for God's sake, stop bringing up SD so lightly like that. Saying this is like that makes it look to me as if you've never actually been to SD. It's much more pretentious and retarded than this.
