Do you not have a car?
And will you keep paying your internets?
No to both.
If I really want to cheat some internet, there are always places with free public wifi I can loiter at.
Libraries, Fast food joints, etc...
Also, I could loiter in an empty classroom at college, since I know all the places there where people never go.
Hell, I even know which elevators will go to the rooftop at which weeks during each term.
I could hang out on the roof level which has one part sheltered / ventilated and is where they store the routers for wifi in each building.
Yes, I could actually fuck with the elevators up there if I wanted to, but I'm not that mean spirited or self-destructive that I want to be kicked off campus.
They have control panels on that floor and no keys are required to activate them because the floors themselves are normally inaccessible without a key.
They can only be accessed by elevator, and only when the floor isn't locked out.
Maintenance folks have to clean the top floor of each building once per month, so every four weeks (on rotation) a different building's roof level is unlocked for maintenance.
Most people don't know anything at all about PCC's rooftop schedule, mind you, as I myself discovered it by accident initially.
After discovering that the same rooftop was unlocked periodically, over a couple of terms I came to the conclusion that others were also the same.
I checked my theory by going to each building on campus every day I was there to check if I could go to the rooftop level, but I did so mostly after 5pm when most students have already left and not many people use the elevators.
I was proven correct but was not really surprised by that result.
I'd be more surprised if they cleaned the top floors in a more sporadic, random schedule.
The only reason I figured out it was for cleaning is that on some days there were mop buckets and mops up there with chemicals around, and on some days there were not.
It's worth noting, though, that the entire roof area where they store stuff and the elevator controls are is darker than shit.
You can't see two feet in front of you without a flashlight, but luckily my phone has a flashlight built into the camera.
Oh, and one last thing - There were no employee only or staff only signs in the areas I entered, so I'm guessing they've never caught anyone up there who wasn't a staff or faculty before.
