Well I would say some tips for being a writer is make your characters. Well characters. Flush them out on paper and have them react to the what happens. As for poetry. I can't help in that field
1. A psychiatrist
2. An FBI Profiling Agent
3. A Model
There are three. There ones not career wise, but it'd get too deep.
And to improve on your writing skills, just keep writing. That's the best advise out there. Trust me, the more I write the better I get. Also, read your past works and point out to yourself on what you improved on since you wrote it.
I'm not to internesting in Writting as a Career, but I've heard that you should always choose Story Over Characters or Characters Over Story (other than creating historical and/or journalism pieces)
Its also something I prefer while reading, If your characters are strong enough to bring out emotional-links with the reader than the story can be generic(ish) and Vise versa.
My personal three would be something like...
1: Astronaut
2: Video Game Developer
3: A Dinosuar.
Okay, so i have 2.. and one may be impossible becuase of past injuries.......
I gave up on guitar after breaking my hand. But writing and voice acting is something I can get by nowadays. For writing, I just jot down anything that comes to mind. Anything perverted, violent, or just plain over the top weird. Voice acting is very easy for me. My voice is very deep and I have acting experience, so it should come easy for me.
