Yeah depends on the situation and tone set by the manga and also the mood I'm in at the time. If I have to choose though, I'm a fan of the first choice. It's more romantic and realistic in my opinion.

I prefer the first one, but I typically prefer translations to be as close to the source material as possible.

It's hard for me to imagine a Japanese chick screaming, "FUCK ME WITH THAT MONSTER DICK!" because they're usually meek (or are at least portrayed that way), and that sort of dirty talk doesn't turn me on. Quite the opposite, as it reminds me of crappy live-action porn, where the actresses think that the more they scream obscenities, the more real it seems to the viewer.

Stop being weaboos. Good translators translate from Japanese to English, not weaboo.

That being said, I believe this poll to be quite unfair, since no translator in their right mind would translate "Aah, motto" to "RAM ME WITH YOUR MONSTER COCK".

He doesn't actually specify the original phrase, merely that the two options are alternative interpretations of a phrase. I share the sentiment though, in that I can't see how anything could be translated that differently. :P

It just looks like a biased poll asking one to choose between weabooism and proper translation into English to me. Because, admit it, you guys get a kick out of being able to recognize snippets of Japanese vocabulary. =P

As has been said, this poll is biased. It's similar to the poll where people were asked if they preferred "Onii-chan" to "Master". Onii-chan won in a landslide because people recognize the phrase more often, as translators typically leave that as is because everyone who has ever watched an anime show knows what onii-chan means. On the other hand, "Master" being the english translation of (god help me if I spell this right) goshojin-sama (yeah, that definitely doesn't look right) is usually seen translated, and as such is not recognized as much.

So in short, people like us will quite often choose the Japanese phrase, as it most likely sounds more erotic and less vulgar than it's American counter-phrase. I mean really, who wants to fantasize about some cute meganeko scream obscenities when the two of you are getting the freak on when she could say in a much softer inflection 'Motto...onegai!'


If you're going to make a poll, at least have the two choices in the same language...christ
