Addicted to the Internet?

I was amazed when I read this article, but not surprised. I can't believe a substance abuse clinic has come out for internet users. I laughed when I read it.

I heard about this from my dad, he jokes around saying I have a problem just like those people lol.

That article made me kinda depressed D: I never thought that it would be taken that far...

My dad compares the internet to alcohol and drugs all the time. >.<

I'm not addicted, I'm just bored!

$14k!? Seriously. Why not just disconnect your computer and ask someone to keep the wires hidden from you?

Well, they could always go to regular therapy which would cost way less than 14k. I don't see anything wrong with being 'addicted' to the internet.

I would rather want my kids mindless surfing the web verses taking drugs that would fuck up their mind and body.

Plus, everyone's always addicted to something in life. It could be a person, a tv show, food, chocolate, the internet, cleaning, drugs.. it's always something.

Everything is starting to turn into an addiction. Man, they really need to focus on things more important than this.

If I'm addicted to the internet, I want to get disability payments for it because that is the "American Way".

That's precisely the reason why I am posting. To show the ridiculousness.

I know that i use the computer a lot, But I Do take my time and go outside and stretch for a bit. Really surprised that they really would go that far and make rehab center for internet user. But I think it's a waste of money. I blame it on the parents and not hiding his computer away.

If that was me I would Hide my child computer and if he threaten me then I would use the old fasion way of discipline: The Belt or the Hanger

It's just another way for organizations to leech off money from some people's (the ones, most likely the parents, that are stupid enough to actually pay for these damn sessions) presumed shortcomings, alas internet addictions.

I'm a programmer and IT consultant part timer, so it's just usual for me to be addicted to internet. People around me also never complaining about my hobbies...

I am NOT addicted to the internet. I am only addicted to porn, online games, forums, porn, manga, anime, porn, and porn.
