Addicted to the Internet?

if your worried about being addicted to the internet, all you got to do is go outside.

But then again being outside sucks.

fuck that article it is the same as t.v., video games, porn, and even marijuana nothing addictive. you cant become physically addicted if you have a problem it is mental and you will become addicted to anything

I sometimes consider myself addicted to the internet, but it's not nearly as bad enough as some of those cases.

This is amusing nonetheless, I'm sure my dad will call me any minute to tell me that he's going to force me to go there..

Rehab for 14k... that's just bullshit. I mean sure, some people use the internet excessively. They may never leave their rooms but usually that has nothing to do with being addicted to the internet. It could have just been bullying that forced them to be a recluse. The world can't function without the internet anymore. They just want to leech money off people who believe that they are physically addicted to the internet when all it takes is having a few friends bring him outside for some good fun. If they don't have any friends then that's a whole different story.

You know, the parents should just send them away to like a trip in the mountains with no technology. I'm addicted to the internet but, I'm not really like THAT addicted.

i'm not addicted(much), it's just that i feel i have to reply back to someone when they reply to me ^_^ just like this little dude here ;D

Yeah I'm addicted to the internet. All I really do these days is spend time on the computer. I can't help it though, theres so many things you can do on the web, hell I even switched to an online school for my last year in college (and without surprise got much better grades). If it becomes a serious problem, I have the confidence to ween myself off of it. The methods I used helped my video game addiction afterall (no, I didn't replace video games with the internet if thats what you're thinking, lol).

BTW they already have these things in S. Korea for years - dozens of them. They are called Internet Rehab Schools, or IRS (IRS! funny rite!?!)

Addicted to the internet... for 14k... it's ridiculous.

This one is just a lack of realization, not addiction. It's the same as workaholics not realizing there's life beyond work, or alcoholics who fail to distinguish water from alcohol.

My dad used to cut newspaper articles that highlight "internet addiction" beside the articles on drugs and alcohol, and paste it on our family signboard when I was in high school. In partial defiance of his bullshit, I took up computer science in college. He stopped dissing me since he can't differentiate me using the computer for internet gaming or studying (he instead channeled his pestering to my internet-using sisters). Out of college, he still can't diss me for 5+ hours of internet usage - I'm a web application programmer.

There are much cheaper ways to deal with it if you really have a problem.

I'd consider myself addicted, but I don't think it is really having an adverse affect on my life. At least not yet anyway. XD
