I don't care what people call me, be it otaku or anything else. 8)

I actually don't get mad at a person who calls me an otaku - I simply pity him. I get to enjoy life better than him.

If someone called me Otaku irl which hasn't happened yet it wouldn't bother me at all. If anything I would go out of my way to prove how much of a Otaku I am. Probably by pulling out my flash drives with some of my favorite stuff on it and showing off my Saber collection. Then direct them to fakku where I am a very active member at. Foruming, talking, chatting, texting, emailing and IMing my fellow Otaku friends.

No one from my immediate surroundings would even know the term.
As for per-Internet ... why would I mind ? I am one. More so in the past though.

Pretty much the same here. Nor do they know about my penchant for hentai. Most people in my vicinity you could ask what anime is and they'd think it's a thai noodle dish.

I want to say I'd laugh to their stupid faces for being idiots, as I'm not really much interested in anime/"otaku" "subculture"/japan/... beyond hentai; but to be frank I really couldn't give tuppence either way. I guess this is the one and only point where my arrogance and olympian disdain for other people's opinions comes in handy.

No, since I don't care what people says to me. And I use to call other people losers or pussies anyway so I guess it's even. Or worse to them.

I don't care since I'm already older, why should I care what somebody calls me? This is my hobby and I enjoy it ^__^. If somebody wants to push the issue and try to make you feel bad, then they are just being ass and childish.

My boyfriend often tells me Im a geek. But to be honest I just call him a chav ^.^
You shouldnt care what people think of you. Be proud of who you are. And there is nothing wrong with Anime/Manga or Hentai!

I got an otuku t shirt for buying anime from Suncoast before they closed. I still wear it.

Not really. I still hate the term though because I'm not even close to being one at all. Unlike a lot of people who watch anime or read managa, I couldn't care less about Japan and their culture. Anime and manga are not even in my top 3 when it comes to personal interest.

Otaku? No.

Weaboo? Yes.

For some reason I only heard the term weeaboo from 16 yr olds and under, so I never had experience with that word.

There's a difference between a weeabo and an otaku. To be quite honest, I really don't even consider myself an otaku anymore. Or at least a very relaxed one now.

When I was younger, I was obsessed with anime in a closeted manner lol. Like I didn't go out screaming oh em gee inuyasha~

But my merchandise craving has gone down dramatically, I watch anime sometimes. Like I won't want anime unless I know I have time to sit on my ass and marathon shit.

So, if anyone called me an otaku, I'd be surprised. Now, I'd be insulted if I was called a weeabo, especially because I don't publicly embarrass myself about anime and the Japanese culture.
