I think deep down, Harry Redknapp knew this would happen. Time for VDV, Bale and Modric to leave and the manager to switch mid-season, pockets brimming with Daniel Levy's bullion.
More pertinently though, well done Chelsea. Incredible resolve, brilliant spirit and discipline. Defence was magnificent, lucky but magnificent. Even Bosingwa and Kalou played well. Luiz, Cahill, Cole and Cech were all completely outstanding, and Bertrand/Torres put in great cameos. Fate.
I think it came down to Bayern's inability to put their shots away. You can't afford to make 40 shots, with 33 on target, and NOT score! Their finishing was poor, and that helped Chelsea a lot.
Chelsea took their chances (what was it, only 9 or so shots in the game?!). Bayern probably thought they already had it won, especially being on home turf.
