I've always highly preffered slashy/stabby things over shooty/bangy things.
I think swords and axes are just, you know, cooler.
Guns would be more practical to use in a fight, but if you want to look cool...

As I previously stated, my fave is piano wire.....
But I forgot to mention my other fave.....
I don't know, it's just that i prefer precise, silent and stealthy killing tools much more than barbaric, mass-murderous, noisy weapons.

But you should never have to use the weapon because of how effective it is, not because of how flashy yet useless it is.

But you should never have to use the weapon because of how effective it is, not because of how flashy yet useless it is.

I never understood the useful part of the "gun" in a gunblade. As far as I can tell, it's only there for decoration.
I think there's a weapon in Unreal Tournament that literally fires a black hole... either that or the Redeemer, but I think that's a nuke on a portable hand-held launcher.

The Redeemer is a portable optionally guided missile that makes things die.
So yeah, pretty much a nuke.

Despite its name, it could not be used as an actual gun, meaning it didn't fire projectiles, and could therefore only be used in melee combat, making it more like a gun supplementing a sword than a blade supplementing a firearm, e.g. a bayonet on a rifle.
and if you actually have played FFVIII, the gunblade has an ignite trigger function that will give a boost in damaging the enemy when hit.

why don't modern soldiers carry swords?
I'm sure they could make foldable ones, so when the shit hit's the fan (again), they're not caught off guard.
