You don't even need to leave you're computer to find a good bokken, unless you want to try it out before you buy it. I've actually been shopping around for one for quite some time. Just searching around the internet, I've found this site to be the best so far. Not only does it have a great variety of models, it also has naginata and yari as well.

Keep in mind what you're looking for. For training purposes, the average bokken will do you fine, but you really should shop for one as if you're shopping for a katana.

Woah Look at the Variety of those Boken. This could take some time to consider. Boken seem a bit High Maintenance though after going through some of their articles.
And that Image you put up, It looks like a hybrid of a Katana and a Kendo stick, What exactly is it?

Basically it is. I haven't tried one yet and can't speak from experience, but I've read some pretty good reviews about them. It's designed for full force training and it's supposed to absorb a lot of the impact and reduce bruising. So, if you're looking for something to beat children with, this might be it.

Hmm, I'm not sure if you counted this in Random Manga, but Doujinshi as well? I know there a huge store in Akihabara (from expreince) I think it has 7 floors XP which does include music and other things.

Anime posters, um video games if you're into it. You should also look up the random festivals they have doing the time of your stay. I'm sure they have something (rmb looking at it once of a list of dates) and that should be interesting.

Oh the number one thing you should not leave out as a thing to do/shop for is JAPANESE BAKREY FOOD. And Snacks... They have some kick ass cookies there.


I'll give you the address of the huge store in a bit. It's been a considerable while since I've been back to Japan. (We use to go for chinese new year, but the last two years, we've been goign to europe and then Now I'm in college and such)

Edit: I completely forgot, there's... always the maid / cosplay cafes you could go to. Never went to one (wouldn't be able to order anything, though I hardly doubt I would bother anyways) However a couple of my friends that I knew from HS went to one. They said it was quite the "experience"
