That's exactly the loophole. Lolicon isn't technically banned under that case for that very reason.

I'm not sure. I've heard about several different cases, and it's all jumbled up inside my head.

All I know is, I wouldn't chance sending a loli doujin overseas. If I saw it at a convention, I might buy it, but sending it through the postal service seems too risky. Then again, I can be very paranoid about things.

No one is trying to scare you. Just to give you all sides of the story. You just have to proceed with caution. More than likely you'll be fine. There have been a handful of convictions and they were only people who were previously being targeted or suspected for illegal materials either outside of lolicon or were extremely vocal about it. The odds of every being targeted are extremely slim.

Why do I feel like the government wastes its time on the most insignificant things. Like, it'd be me worrying about what I was going to wear tomorrow while my house is burning down.

As has been said before, the government has to be seen as doing something, and prosecuting lolicon possessors is fairly easy* and packs quite a bit of PR bang for the government's buck.

*As opposed to cracking down on drugs and illeigal guns.

The reason they crack down on this kinda stuff is because it's easier and safier then takeing down a drug gang or a crazy gun nut.

Ok i'm gonna try and make this short since i need a shower and some sleep. The case with the pure loli doujins was due to postal employees investigating his stuff. Now posession is legal thx to supreme court but transporting across borders is a loophole so ordering is a crime but owning is not. Also the guy surrendered before going to court so truth be told their is no real precedent. Fact is i think it comes down to no one knows not the localk cops not the feds no one. So i'd say download douhjins but don't buy or go across even state borders with it. Hell even downloading is questionable. But meh that's the stupidity of the us. Also don;t forget what jacob said about cops just walking out of the loli music vid at the boston convention so meh no one knows not even the fuzz it seems.

In America, no clear rules that the general public know about have been set that I know of. I have a friend who was worried about being arrested for all of his pornography, and all of the stuff the reporter could see was 'cartoon'. He went about deleting logical copies [which comes under obstruction of justice, regardless of the content, as one intended to stop the law in an investigation] but was never followed up. I think your friend is 100% safe and all the talks right now are over-hyped political stunts. But I haven't read much about it, I only know about my country.

Meh, that loli ban won't go very far. There are plenty of things that are illegal in this world, that constantly slip through the cracks due to their popularity. There will be underground loli markets now... right next to the drug and organ trafficers. :P
