Current state of FAKKU forums.

Ok my responce will be short becuase a 2 page paper on this matter is a pain to read. I haven't been around long but I like the forums alot. I do think there is a lack of order in random. But overall I love it here!!! Also there's to many how funny is this video thread's.

Here's my two-dollars worth on this matter. Some if not most of what I will say have been already repeated, but repetition drives a point home, ne?

1. What do you think of the current status of the forums?
My answer is that something changed from the time I disappeared in January to March. The threads wasn't as interesting as it was then, especially with the influx of new users and with it threads and posts. But to think of the status of the forums, there isn't anything particularly wrong other than it's supported by an old user base which is increased through participation of new users. Registerd members keep increasing, and FAKKU traffic shows that it's in high demand, so my guess is that the forums are doing fine. I think ShaggyJebus explains the situation well for us older users.

2. Are you happy with the active user base and your interactions with them?
From the time I disappeared and reappeared, I believe the # of noobs has dropped, but that could be because motemote is over. Still, I have noticed that the old user base have become increasingly hostile to newer members. Gambler has noted the problem and I believe he is correct. To that end, I believe something else is required. Though it may be my own personal opinion, I wish for the times that I debated seriously on topics with others. Overall, I still think the active user base is growing and being active at the same time - it's just that the interaction could be better, as continued in the third question.

3. Is there anything wrong you see with the community?
Mainly the little scuffles here and there between old and new members as well as the older members fighting amongst themselves. Also I see a lot of useless threads and uninteresing threads, though I'm more worried about the useless threads. Traffic still remains to be a problem for others when accessing the forums.

4. If so, what do you think needs to be done to correct it?
Well, as I have pushed for this point before, I feel that the forums need more moderators considering the fact that many mods are unavailable/MIA. The Random section needs a moderator especially since it's full of crap. More mods means easier facilitation of forum dicussion flow. I personally would like to see the memberlist reinstated for reference on users, but that's my own opinion.

I've more or less posted the forums' cons, but only as constructive criticism. I still love FAKKU and I like hanging out in the forums.

Hmm... Not agree with IP ban. Sometime people may have one IP, depend on the ISPs.

As for me, i randomly come out from my artist basement, The Art section. So i can't tell much for the outside world. But i think it's fun and still in a good condition, nothing need to be changed in the system.
I also wonder for the images section(out of the question i think). But I prefer upload my images there, that if i want to use it here also. Hope that will be up sometime-sometime.

I'm pretty happy with the forums as they are. Sure we have a missplaced thread or 2, the seldom asshole of a user, but in my 5+ months of activity, I'd say were in pretty good shape compared to other forums of this size.


Also, I'm having extreme Deja vu from that statement. I swear you've said that exact same thing somewhere else.

I'm very sorry for this late response. I don't come to Random very often, but here are my answers:

What do you think of the current status of the forums?
I've been around for quite a long time on Fakku, but I'm not the type to post a lot or jump into discussions. I didn't register until after lurking for a year or so. I've seen the Forums change over the years and it's definitely different now compared to a few years back. However, I like our current community a lot, just like before. The environment is still great and our Elders and Elites are all very active and keeping the discussions alive. We have some very nice new users too and I enjoy their presence. And as for the technical stuff, just fix the auto login, and implement a better image uploader so that we can upload more than 10 images at once.

Are you happy with the active user base and your interactions with them?
A lot of people sign up for Fakku for MOTEMOTE or leeching, then vanish off the face of the forums, but isn't that the same as any other forum? As I said above, the active user base is great, and they made me feel really welcome when I joined in, and I still feel quite at home here. They contribute a lot too. I'm very satisfied with our admins and translation team (that includes you, Nikon!) . I understand that maintaining this site is more difficult than what I can possibly imagine, and I'm extremely thankful for all that you people do for us.

Is there anything wrong you see with the community?
It saddens me to say that there is. Nothing is perfect in this world, and especially in the internet. Compared to the beginning, I think there's a bit more hostility than before, mostly targeted at new people, and people new to hentai or lacking in knowledge in certain areas. I've seen many people getting flamed for small things. This forum overall is still has a much better environment than most other forums I go to, but the friendliness has definitely started diminishing. This was mentioned by many people before me, and Gambler said this a long time ago in that stickied thread.

If so, what do you think needs to be done to correct it?
It can be difficult to change the environment of the forums. The presence of more moderators as proposed by g-money is nice, and will help in cutting down useless threads, but I don't really think it will help improve the environment. The only thing that I can think of that can help this slowly more-hostile environment is for us all to take a deep breath and just not post if you want to flame someone. Even though I say that, it's not going to change much because I doubt many people will read this, and even less who'll follow it.
