Dakimakuras anyone?

Yeah, saw them the other day; they're pretty tasty. Mandarake also has a wonderful Bishop cover that they added this morning; fluids on covers just do something for me, so a cute chick lactating is delicious. :3

Like them both, but the redhead looks like her stomach is both inflated and deflated at the same time - like the shit is straight up silly putty or something. Perhaps its just been expanded and has already expelled some of its "contents." Giving it that stretched out look. I don't know...I guess it just looks too flat on top. And the other one...all I gotta' say is "open wide!" Strange thing about that one is that you can only see her tail pipe and not her other no-no area. What's up with that?

I like what they tried to do with both of them, but I thought the execution was a bit off myself. For the inflation one, I noticed the same exact thing... and my best guess was there's an invisible boot pressing down on her stomach right there.

As for the other, the sample bar is in the way a bit to see exactly what's going on down there. However, in my experience, eroge companies are the worst offenders when it comes to censoring on dakimakura covers. They try to push the limit for what they can show, but they don't want to go too far; this can result in some truly awful decisions.

I don't mind what I like to call "creative censoring". Things like strands of hair/cloth, fluids (like the covers Zengar posted on the previous page), or what have you, covering up the greater details of the goods while still being highly suggestive. I've seen several covers try to go for this middle ground (not fully clothed, but not too many details like a Marks cover) in the wrong way.

The two worst cases I've seen are:

Mosaic censoring on the actual cover. The details are there, but under a very large mosaic. I almost would have preferred the chick to have some panties on.

Smoothing the area out. Like a Barbie doll. You actually see this on a lot of covers to some degree, but they'll usually have the aforementioned ribbon or hair strand directly in the center. There isn't any detail to the sides of the obstruction, and obviously you can't see anything under it. But that's not so bad. I've seen a few cases that gave you an absolute clear shot of the nether region, with nothing to stand in its glorious way, only to be greeted with a smooth patch of skin.

Personally, I too, hate mosaic censoring, and would much rather have an art obstruction in the way: hair, undies, toys, etc. The blank, flat surface comes in second to the the mosaic censoring in my opinion. I don't like it, but it beat having a mosaic spoiling the art.

Ah yeah. The inflation one has a bit of a groove near the top, with the panties covering the rest... the blonde just has nothing there.

Mosaic is just stupid on a dakimakura cover, in my opinion. I'd rather the chick have a pair of panties on (not even half off) then them pussying out with a mosaic. I'll agree that mosaic is definitely worse than the smooth censoring, but I find it even lazier. With the mosaic, you can tell that they put some effort into the art, no matter how minimal, and just made a retarded decision. Smooth surfacing, without any obstruction, is just laziness.

The image works fine for me in Chrome. But as long as you're able to see it, that's what matters. I actually own that cover, and it was one of the first 10 or so that I purchased (and the first I purchased over 20000 yen.) I was really excited about it, but the sample image was absolutely misleading. They used the anime standard caution tape to cover up all the sensitive bits, so I really expected something good to be there. But the nether area is smooth. It was a really big let down, and it instilled a wariness of sample images that I still have today (along with a few others - I quickly learned a lesson with Cospa and other mass market companies.) It's such a shame that; at the very least, they could have just taken one of those big goops of fluid, and placed it dead center.

Yeah, there are a couple UNDEAD covers that both DFan and I have that have mosaic censoring - isn't too bad, but it's just enough to where you cannot make out the details ( -_-)

I have one of those too. Was a fairly funny train of events:
1. See uncensored image of one of the girls.
2. Damn, that's really hot - Ohshi, it's a dakimakura cover! I'm so buying it.
3. Buy it on YJA.
4. Dfan randomly mentions the cover in a PM conversation, and that it's censored.
5. FUUUUUUUUUU


I actually didn't buy the one I wanted, though. If memory serves, I bought the one of a dark brown haired chick, when I wanted the one of the light brown haired chick spreading her ass. She's the one I would have preferred, but I wasn't willing to pay double the price, so I settled for the other chick; I figured it would have been fine, since it was uncensored... >_>

I've come to find that there is almost no room for second guessing yourself on Mandarake; I don't know how many times I've figured I could think about a cover for even a minute or two, only to have it snatched from me. The same has happened on YJA, but in that case it's usually for a really popular item that has a fairly rare buyout option. But it happens all the dame time on Mandarake.

For example, this morning my buying process went like this:

I saw a Kyounetsu and Yasuomi-Craft cover, immediately added them to my cart, and checked out. Then I saw a Dakimakuma cover in roika with fluid; added it to my cart and checked out. Then I saw an old Argyle cushion cover of Taiga; added it to my cart and checked out.

Nothing special about it per se; the circle/company's covers do tend to fend a higher price, though. Don't know if it's because of limited numbers, overwhelming demand, or a combination of the two, but I've seen the cover of their red haired chick sell for 30000+.

For the CD, I have no idea. Probably a voice drama of the character from whatever game she's from. Might have some CG or something on it too.

I just threw in 30k for Ankoku's Miku. Let's see if I get lucky.

Hopefully you will, but you should have started bidding earlier, I think. Back when there were about 15-20 listings, I saw the first version sell in the 25000-33000 range, and the ero version sell in the 33000-45000 range. The ones that sold this morning all sold for a bit more than average, with the standard version selling for around 35000 and the ero version selling for around 37000. Compared to yesterday's batch that had the standard version closing at 29000ish and the ero version closing just under 35000.

Hopefully I'm wrong and you'll win yours without having to raise your bid, but that's just based off my observation.

Haha, yup. I just saw an UNDEAD cover recently on YJA too. I think it was probably the same one you were referring to. At any rate, they use that really middle-of-the-road silky material. Not sure what it's called, but yeah, don't really care much for it. Sure the covers are hot, but I wouldn't pay more than 10K for them.

Also, haha I missed out on that IG cushion too. Oh well, perhaps if you see another one, and happen to have just purchased another 4 covers... ;)

It's SK Suede, I'm pretty sure. Lot of cheap covers use that as their bottom line material, and I can't stand it. I pretty much only buy covers that use it if it's my only option and I really want the cover, or the price for a 2WT is absurd while SK is reasonable. For a lot of Ankokoubou covers, that tends to be the case, except even more extreme. SK is absurdly expensive (20k-50k) and you can't even find a 2WT copy of certain covers.

Hi friends, so I've recently bought some covers and filling and stuff but I'm actually like super sour about how badly they were filled, I hope this wasn't mentioned before as I've only gone through 10 or so of this threads pages. I was hoping someone could tell me where I could get some GOOD filling for my covers... I like a lot of fill and I don't want to take the risk of buying some to be disappointed again.

Once again, I apolgoize if this was covered somewhere in here and I appreciate if someone could lead me in the right direction.

I don't think many of use here use filling, but actual pillows. I personally collect the cases more than I use them, and only have one shitty body pillow.

Royalpillow is recommended by a few people in this thread; they're willing to custom make pillows to a specific size. They offer several different filling options, too. Not sure if you absolutely want filling over a full pillow, but you might want to shoot them an email and see if you can just buy their filling.
