A lot of people have been saying what you guys have: Only buy complete boxsets. But what if an Anime isn't in a complete set yet? Haruhi only has boxsets for individual volumes, same thing with Lucky Star (and the "Limited Edition" art on the cases aren't that awesome.)
So I'm torn. I also don't see what some people have against buying the regular, non-special volumes. As if people NEED a huge box to go with the DVD or their lives are meaningless.
I only buy boxsets, but it's not because I think boxsets are cool or anything. It's about the money, plain and simple. I adamantly refuse to buy single DVDs of anime now, because I'll end up paying more than $20 for four or five episodes. It's better to spend $100 (sometimes less) for twenty-six episodes.
Aside from that, I don't buy much anime because there's not a lot that I would rewatch. For example, I watch Bleach and Naruto, but I'd never pay for them because I will never in my life watch the episodes a second time. The same goes for most of the series that I've downloaded and watched on my computer.
Depends, if it's Anime that I really enjoy i'll buy the actual copy. IF not i usually just torrent. I'll probably try to get my hand on the upcoming UBW movie
I find myself do the download more often, but if the series managed to be released on my country and it's worth watching, I'm buying it (but usually I wait for them to be on sale first lol)
Depends. But most of the time now I just archive it cause most of the animes I watch aren't in DVD or at least DVD English. So atm, download and archive.
