If one still has the will to stay sober and decline the temptation, even though giving in would make you look like more of a part of the group, then I would say that that's an accomplishment.
I'd say it's all a matter of opinion and personal views and standards.
I endorse this 100%. The pressures and temptations of society is what makes this an accomplishment.

He wants to stay sober and by staying sober he makes a small achievement each day.
It's not a grand achievement such as graduating college or obtaining a platinum record but, it's an achievement (i.e. success) in it's own way.

It's a simple promise I made to myself when I was a 8 year old kid. Nothing religious BTW. It's just something that I decided to do mostly because of my family history. I fear that if I drink one drop of alcohol, I could become an alcoholic.
Also, you wouldn't know how many times I have been tempted both at home and at school. Staying sober has also keep me out of trouble all of my life.

I would say its only an accomplishment to stay away from drugs is when you put effort into it. I don't feel like killing anyone nor do i want to. would you say anyone here who hasn't committed murder would of accomplished anything? now if you put effort into killing someone.... well, that's an accomplishment in my opinion. =P
