Fakku Idol

Just as it says.
Basically, whoever is running it, picks a genre(Can music genre, or you can make it more interesting by selecting a certain anime genre. For example, robot love anime would be like chobits or Sora no Otoshimono. Then it can be something like "Love comedy" or something. So someone could sing "Pina Colada" or of the sort.)

And contestants pick a song, record themselves singing, and send it to whoever is running it.

Then the host uploads it for everyone to judge. Public voting, yes. Via poll prolly.

Kinda like American idol. Depending on how many people participate, you can probably have a top 10, top 8, top 5, etc.

What do you guys think? Got this idea off of another site, but I think we'd have more success here.

At least it'll be hilarious.

I think this has the potential for unbridled hilarity. But actually organizing this will take some work, and mostly people hate work. So I don't really see it happening.

Its simple really.

Contestants send in karaoke.

When due date comes, host uploads karaoke to youtube(Or similar, maybe small snippets 30sec-1 minute long?)

Everybody posts which was there favorite top 5, top 10 whatever.

As people drop out until there are 2 left.

Those 2 will have their own VS poll singing their favorite song.

Winner is Fakku Idol.
