Fate/Stay Night 'What if?'

I mean, it's possible. Well, I dunno about Rin but Shirou does. After being attacked by Lancer, he still had the Jewel Rin used to summon her servant and to heal him.

If Rin got Sabre, they'll probably be the winner, BUT if shirou receives the same training from Rin and indirect lessons from Archer, Both archer and shiro will be a solid team, both with Tracing magic, there's no weapon that they cannot trace, and Double Unlimited Blade Works will totally ROCK!

But what I was really thinking is that..... how would they stop the priest (forgot the name).

Also. Although it would be cool to see Shirou and Archer Kick Ass and Double UBW, I was thinking that the first thing Archer would do is.... kill Shirou.

I wonder if Rin would have summoned Saber if she did her summon at the correct time. The only problem though is that Shirou did have the sheath inside him so that's why he summoned Saber. But of course if Rin got her first, then it is very possible that Shirou could summon Archer. I mean they definitely have a strong connection to one another if you know what I mean.

Archer probably could have trained Shirou really well eventually. Of course they wouldn't have gotten along in the beginning haha. And the threat of Rin and Saber is very dangerous. There's gotta be some kind of fanfic of this lol.

Well, Rin&Saber combo would still be weaker than Fate/Zero's Kiritsugu/Irisviel/Saber combo. I need to continue reading the novel soon x_x.
But Rin&Saber would've been the most kickass combination along with Illya&Bassakka. And probably still fail because Rin always makes mistakes at CRUCIAL moments.

Shirou/archer combo won't work if you're taking into account their personalities. Shirou would be killed by archer before anything happens, besides archer isn't particularly cooperative when it comes to training shirou and without the influence I doubt he will learn Unlimited blade works ie. he will be useless

For Shirou not to summon Saber would require that he don't has the sheath inside his body, leading to him dying by the fire from the fourth holy grail war, which also would mean no Archer, I guess.

Wasn't Saber "reserved" for Shirou to be summoned? I haven't finished the whole game yet, so please excuse if I may be wrong, but I thought that it's already determined who gets whom servant rather than a 'First come, first serve'. Because... I don't know, it wouldn't make much sense for the 'strongest' servant to be the last one summoned, shouldn't everyone go after a Saber-compatible spirit, then?

which part of the story are you at? there's an explanation of how Shiro summoned Saber during 'Fate' storyline.(also how Rin summoned Archer)
The heroic spirits are not pre-determined at all, it depends on the same reason why shiro summoned Saber.

I'm currently somewhere in UBW, but I'll explain why I thought they are predetermined. While I know that connections to the spirits are required in order to summon them, like Saber's sheath or Berserker's axe, right at the beginning of Fate, when Shirou has first contact with Illyasviel, she says to him that he should summon Saber soon or he will die. I thought that, since Illya is the grail's vessel, she had a way to feel the predetermined masters of the grail even before they become masters. Spirits are sometimes compatible for more than one servent class, for example Hercules, I believe his biography said that he is compatible for every class except Assassin, or something like that. Now imagine Hercules as Saber and Arthuria as Berserker - that would be completely unbalanced, Shirou's incompetence as a master in combination with the lack of being able to give Saber magical energy (He figures it out pretty late.) would pretty much be instant defeat if he had to control an insane Saber. So I figured the grail predetermines at least not the spirits but the classes which the masters get. I believe Arthuria also said that she is able to be more than Saber, so that would probably be Rider and Berserker, or something like that. Now if Saber, Berserker and Rider all would be already occupied, Shirou wouldn't be able to summon Arthuria, his only possible summon since he only has the sheath, which is not an option if Illyasviel could sense him as a master even before all the other servants were summoned.

Shirou, on the other hand, has his awesome projection magic which can kick incredibly much ass, making him a strong Archer. The 'real' Caster has divine language abilities and posesses magic of ancient times, being able to mess even with Saber's complete magic resistance. Rin, on the other side, would simply go down when facing such resistance.

The part where Illya meets Shiro the first time, she mentions 'Saber' as a class, not Artoria. Because Shiro is the last one, and a saber class wasn't summoned yet, she already knew that Shiro would summon it. Also, Illya knew about Shiro already because of the connection between Shiro and Kiritsugu. (although i'm guessing, i can't clearly remember that early part) Detailed info on Illya & Kiritsugu will be on later part of Fate/Stay Night and/or Fate/Zero novel.

For the second issue, yes Shirou's magical lyrical 'oops' Saber summon probably would've never happened if only available hero spot left is a caster or any other classes that she cannot be.

she will be an extremely strong Servant since she has learned powerful magic. aside from that,her Noble Phantasm seems quite basic though.. Fragrach and Dagger of Azoth is an Anti Unit type,which means it can only be used only for one target (Dagger of Azoth may works like Rule Breaker,but has different effect).

Ah, I was about to retaliate, but then you mentioned that. Well, I think you'll change your mind about Tohsaka being 'Average' once you play, see and end 'UBW', 'Heavens Feel' and Fate/Hollow Ataraxia

Umm, have you played the game? If not, then I recommend you to play it. If yes, play through the game till you end the Heavens Feel Arc.
