FLAC or MP3?
Do you perfer to listen to your music in FLAC for MP3 format?

Mp3 because FLAC is fucking retardedly big in size. I have 12 gigs of music in Mp3 alone, I can't imagine how much space it would take up if they were all in FLAC. Also, just because FLAC is Lossless doesn't mean it's immune to bit rot. Mp3 only sounds like shit because people usually have shitty converters... I listened to the album version of a song then I listened to the Mp3 version of a song on my new 2.1 speakers, and there was little to no difference.
However, if I did have the space, time, and patience, FLAC would be the next best after listening on the album CD itself.

MP3 - I don't notice too much of a difference in sound quality, but it's not like I'm listening to music every moment of my life either. And I simply don't have the space to hold FLAC albums of several hundred MBs for only 10 or more songs. Like Tegumi mentioned, not everyone is an audiophile.

FLAC for my home pc, mp3 for my handphone
With decent DAC, headphone and player (winamp,foobar) you can point out the different between FLAC and mp3. However for portable device like handphone the ratio size/quality between FLAC/mp3 is quite small

FLAC is lossless and free!
-(good for storing large audio files with high sampling rate)

But if have a smartphone I'll use .ogg

ATM i am still using mp3 format cause its still easy to use and my phone and musicplayer doesnt recognize flac yet.

I know about FLAC but never play it...
Up until now I still using MP3 as my music file format.
MP3 is easier to get, plus it doesn't eat bandwidth nor hard disk space. :D

Im not an audiophile, so most of the time i cant hear the difference between 320k and FLAC, which is a good thing really, as I have neither the Hard-drive space nor the patience

I think, that during our lifetime, we'd all move to FLAC and HD quality videos. I know some of you are still watching your anime and movies through youtube or crunchyroll.
The world is moving towards a more faster speed bandwidth and much bigger storage space at a really rapid pace. I remember 10-15 years back, we were all using 20gb harddrives and having 56k. That was awesome back then. Nowadays, we're at 2TB and Fiber Optic.
I just hope they improve speaker quality faster so people can hear the difference.

FLAC is really a format for audiophiles. The average listener using the average system will not hear a difference between FLAC and MP3. And FLAC is generally more difficult to find (To have your entire library be FLAC, I imagine you would have used a private tracker), and a larger file size than MP3, so to that average user, it isn't worth it.

I perfer to listen to my music in .flac format because I have noticed a higher clarity of sounds, especially bass, which is important to me because I listen to tech/house/dance/electronica at a very high volume and MP3 just can't quite deliver in performance.
