I think silly is...probably a pretty good word for it.
But I thought the show was alright. When I first started watching it, I thought it was pretty awesome, but I more or less just related to Kyon in a way, and it didn't stay awesome to me like my favorites do.

It's very sad when a fan base makes me wish there would never be a second season of a show I enjoyed just because it would make me more happy to know it made them sad.

Haruhi being considered as a God in the series means nothing in reality.
The only GOD I worship is JESUS CHRIST, seriously.
(even though I'm not exactly religious) - I do believe in GOD.
I'm already burdened with so many sins in this life,
I simply wouldn't want to add more, if I can help it.
I never really did like the series that much. I think it's alright and that's just about it. I'd give most credit though to Kyon(Sugita Tomokazu) who made it possible for me to enjoy this series for even a little.
