This is what happens when you befriend your employer at Facebook and then start bitching using your status. VERDICT: FAIL.

On a side note, do you think it's wise to add your coworkers or employers at social sites since it can divulge too much personal info and can affect your status in the workplace? Or placing your social site URL at your resume (I saw a lot of applicants do that nowadays since I help my boss sort out resumes that come in) since the HR department can possibly use it to your disadvantage?

Second off, never ever talk to people or mention them on the internet on a place like facebook or myspace for the same reasons as mentioned above.

I saw another one of these a few days ago =)
I've never really trusted Facebook, especially since I'm going to college in the computer security field, but I still use it to stay connected to distant family and friends. I don't like the thought of people that I don't know finding out my interests, or what I'm up to whenever they please. That's why I chose a different username for this website then I normally go by, and I still haven't quite gotten used to it.

Lol I never trusted facebook, myspace, or anything like it (even though I use them). And I'd never add my boss on anything like them. Hell, this is the internet. You never know when and who you're being tracked by. For all you know, you could possibly be being watched through your computer screen without others knowing it (theory sounds crazy to many but I don't doubt it a bit).

Oh that Kyle. ^_^ We LOLd over that one last year, that's why I asked about HR as well. The HRs are getting more internet-savvy since the social site boom started. I'm anticipating the HRs getting wind of Twitter, I've read a few people bitch about their job there as well, maybe it's a matter of time.
@HE: Yep, I also never trust social sites even though I use them. You never know who reads them.

Well Skype allows you to talk to others (under certain circumstances) for free. I figured there had to be some sort of catch to it. And my guess was that they're making some sort of profit/money from it and they get to listen in. I wasn't sure if my theory was right (still am not completely sure)... but I feel it may be correct. I did research and found a few interesting things.

Wow. I've seen people talk about how bad their jobs suck online, but I've never actually seen a boss's response to it. Good going for the boss. It sucks for the employee, surely, but that's why you gotta watch what you post online.

Well then good thing I don't have a facebook. So unless I meet my boss on Fakku and even then we would be like best buds from then on.

Why would you bitch about your job on a sadlifer site like facebook in the first place. Why would you do that. Her boss is a great man though.
For all you know, monitoring functionality in something that can be easily opened up and looked inside might just be a bad marketing idea.
And why would someone waste his time with fishing for random stuff through listening to skype calls. You know how many people use skype, and what a bull load of work and money that would take to monitor all this worthless shit? Do you seriously think that others think that someone who is not to be found out uses something like skype to talk about his business? Because they can doesn't mean they would bother with it. If you're paranoid of being listened to on skype, you better wrap yourself up in tinfoil, dig deep underground and stay there. But no one would ever bother with any kind of high level monitoring on skype, because (No offense.) you're not important. Conversations on skype are not important. No one would possibly give a fuck about what someone says on skype.
