How/Where/When did you started collecting anime figures?

At first, I liked robot figures and I have some from elementary days (Some gashapon and super sentai robots that I considered cool at that time). And at the 6th grade, I met a new friend who collecting gunpla and I just had a *click on my mind after seeing at it.
Since then, I've started collecting gunpla too. (My first one was a NG 1/144 God Gundam)...
and how I started collecting figures? well, I always loved anime and I loved some of the characters, and I always wanted them in my room so when I started working and had my own money, I just spend them on figures (Since there is no more gunpla that shakes my interest).

This year when i went with my friend to Tracon IV (somewhere in the beginning of the year) i bought small Mezzo DSA figures =p (and my 1st huggy pillow, Haruhi).
After that next time in Desucon 06 (i think; beginning of June) i bought then Mikuru in Nurse Outfit.
After that in Animecon (month later) i bought Chobits figure and Rei Ayanami, well that's how it got started >_< spending all my euros off.
