I hate college

I'm kind of in the same situation. I have very little interest in going through college. The only reason I am(or possible 'was') is because everyone in my family did(so I was expected to) and everyone says you should. However it all depends on what you want in life.

If you want a house, a family, a car(or two), a big back lawn and a 'successful' career, I'm pretty sure you'll need to go through college or the like.

On the other hand, if your more like me and have no wish for most of those; why put more work into it? College guarantees nothing, but undoubtedly makes life at least a little better 'later'. Sadly I'm a 'now' person.


Also, successful is a wide term. My grandfather was 'successful'. He was 3rd from the top of a major health insurance company. A very high paying job, but very stressful. He smoked almost constantly and I doubt there was an hour in a day where he did not have a fresh martini nearby.
After he retired, he mowed lawns at a golf course. And he LOVED it. Just him and his lawn mower, a lot like what you where saying with your security job.

So really, I myself hate doing something simply because people say 'You should do it'. I am the person to ask 'why?' and often get an answer which sounds too copy paste, and then make my own answer.
I only suggest you find what you want in life, 'then' work toward it. Anything can be achieved, but only if you want to achieve it.

You should do what you think is right. I didn't like working my sales, or security jobs so I went back to college to become an educator and I actually love it. Going to school and learning is therapeutic for me. It's the kind of lifestyle I'm comfortable and fulfilled in. When I was doing something I wasn't motivated to do or didn't like to do I didn't like my life and I was constantly in a bad mood. (Well I'm always in a bad mood but that's a different story.) But my point is. Do what you want and what you feel comfortable doing. It's your life and if anyone tries to push you into some roll because they want you to be something you're not then don't listen. It's your life and you are in charge of what you do.

I went to class today, turns out nobody was listening to me through a speaker phone and it ended up being a normal day. So it ended up just me being paranoid.

Speaking of colledge i just got accepted to my first yesterday: University of Oregon. Fuck yea

I have no idea I live in Eugene, in an apt. So I don't know much about dorms. But I do know there are plenty of student apts. and houses that can be easily shared with other students you might know or your friends in the area. But I can ask around and PM you with some dorm suggestions if you like as well.

Im assuming u had friends going there from your highschool, however, i wont have this advantage, but ill ask around since 1 has to apply early as possible for a dorm. Mabe ill c u there? Thx

Well I know a few people that are going to college here in Eugene, Most of them are going to Lane though or refuse to speak to me still. But I have family that works at the UO so I may be able to get you answers.

I go to U of O I just don't live in the Dorms. I'm looking up review of dorms for you now. Most seem to be pretty standard fare. Although I'm curious are you accepted for Fall term or winter?

fall term, i know the dorm discriptions, you dont have to look them up, i just want to know which is the best from some 1 who has lived in them

Nope, but its eather buisness or law, if i go to oregon itl be buisness untill i graduate, then, if i still want it, law for graduate school.

Ah I see. I'm studying to be an educator. If I manage to kick around long enough to get my PhD.

Most of the things I've heard about UO are good things. I haven't met anyone on campus that's really had anything bad to say. My only real complaint is the campus math requirement. But even that is only because I am horrible with high level math. The campus is beautiful and the staff is pretty helpful. The lack of air conditioning in some buildings isn't too fun. But that's made up for the the great places to eat both around campus and around Eugene. And hell if it's too hot. The hospital is like a block away.

Heh nice, i saw the campus, it certainly is beautiful, i think i would be very content there.
