Maybe I should change my question from "Who cares?" to "Why the fuck would you care?". Yes... yes, that sounds much better.

I was big into animal rights as a young teen, I've slacked off lately, but my feelings remain the same. This is just one reason I'm a vegetarian.

Now purifier, everyone is entitled to their own opinions, and apathetic/cynical viewpoints, but really, why should this suffering be tolerated? I have nothing against raising animals for consumption, as long as its done in a reasonable way... But having this massively huge, brutal, cheap slaughter industry so fat shits around the world can get their cheap lowgrade KFC is just wrong... This could be done on a smaller scale, producers could be forced to invest a little dough in more humane slaughter methods, it wouldn't kill them.

I happen to feel very strongly about chickens in particular. Why? Well I was raised in the country, and my family had a flock of chickens. We were vegetarians, so we never killed a one. Because of that, I got to know them all like pets. People say chickens are stupid creatures, scared, witless etc. But they are not by any means. They are intelligent, they all have unique and interesting personalities, some even bond with you to an extent. These are intelligent feeling animals, and while I'm not calling for the halt of all meat production, is it to much to as for a little respect and humanity? Or is cheap consumer food the only thing that fucking matters...

KFC is just using this for efficiency and effectiveness in working.

Can you imagine how much money and time is spent, if KFC really care about their chicken. They will be bankrupt in a few weeks or even days.

But I disagree with the chicken torture fun at the end of the video.

as inhumane as it seems... the entire process of live stocking and supplying the world with deli meats is pretty grim, wouldnt you agree? its more cold-blooded then anything, we raise these animals as efficiently as possible untill theyre lives come to a bitter end... as much as it is improper to anyone with morals for animal rights, i gotta agree with dalif and purifier... in the end we've reduced them to nothing more then property for sale, you do what you will with your own possesions dont you? i really wish i could do something, but i dont have the strength of word or money to do a single thing about it.

you know, for them to be a little humane to the animal would only cost maybe a dollar or two per chicken. considering how much they charge for the shit they wouldnt go bankrupt.

Disturbing >_<... I sympathise with the animals in that they're all living creatures and that sort of treatment is disgusting, but the problems aren't just the way they are treated. Business is supply and demand and if consumers want cheap meat its just the way it is and that sort of damage is just seen as collateral damage. Its a pity because it is KFC (and others) who create this torture but at the end of the day its also down to the consumers wants, and what they want, they get. But you kno, just my view, whether the consumer society we live in will change is a different matter, we could just all move to N.Korea =__=;;...

This is pretty much true, though methods to tone down the brutality are not impossible, nor to damaging for profits...

My personal feelings are just that man has no right to impose this treatment on animals for our own benefit. Just cause its financially better for them, it doesn't make it right. But again, I know thats hopeless idealism... Thats kinda why I'm not actively into animal rights anymore, you can win small battles, but the big picture will probably never change.

Still, this is what these videos are good for. All people should at least be aware of the cruel price that is payed for their fast food. It could even change things given enough feedback...

It amazes me that humans are the only animal on the entire planet that actually cares about the feelings and treatment of the very things it needs to survive.

First its animal rights groups that will eventually force everyone to become vegetarians because "eating meat is wrong" Then why the fuck was I born with canines dip shit? Canines aren't meant to chew vegetables their meant to tear meat.

Does it really matter how their treated? They are going to be eaten. If it really bothers you so much then be a vegetarian or a vegan and let the rest of us enjoy our dead animal.

one more thing to add to this. A lot of people I know, myself included, disapprove of medical experimenting and the breeding of animals for feed, calling it inhumane. However, the main point here (brought up by a friend of mine) is that they are not human. They aren't fully sentient to comprehend the fact that they are about to die. And in the end, if it isn't that one rat being tested, or that other chicken been harvested, it's another one suffering the fate of the first. There will always be animal deaths, whether it's for human consumption or not. So why complain, If they'll die anyway, and for our benefit and need? They are there so they can try to survive, or fail. The ones that die fail. They are eaten, or they die in the experiment.
However, that does not justify animal cruelty. If it's gotta go, then do it as fast as possible. Unless it's some asshole cat that loves to take a shit in your garden...

Meh, I eat meat, and respect those who don't. But I find their cause to be a little bit pointless, seeing as the animal will die eventually, and humans have been eating other species since they stepped out of the ocean, and even before that. It's a necessity for survival.

your right on the money in my opinion, but the only reason i think its outside the limits of morality is because we dont respect the creatures anymore. earlier in earths time line hunting was a fundemental part of any peoples development, but at least they used every part of the animal and respected what they killed. now animals are just products, possessions, another means of currency... and thats what really ticks me off.
