Life in the dark

we had the power outage of 03 and another ice storm in 97 i think, it knocked down trees that had been around for hundreds of years and made it impossible to leave your house; the good news was school was canceled.

Made me remember a power cut where i lived for around 20 hours.

No air-con, no fan no lights no computer
Cant sleep because of the sweat, cant read cz too dark, cant walk around cz ill be knocking things around.
I spent half the day sitting outside on the bench feeding mosqitoes and bathing for cooling,

I have had a 2 week blackout before. It sucked until I got down the gas station to buy fuel for the generator.

Develop night vision and the ability to remote access cyberspace using your higher-operating brain functions - circumvents blackouts of any kind.

Back on topic, I've never been in a blackout that lasted more than a few hours, but I have seen a portion of town go out for power for a full night. Then again, I also have surge protectors and backup generators just to be safe. I've got two of these units because my father is paranoid:



And they're pretty fucking handy as I've noticed incidences of power surges followed by a clicking noise from my Tripp-lite unit - and of course everything else is hanky panky, business as usual.

Hmm... never feel any long black out. The maximum i get is just 8 hours, and that happen at night.

hmm... black out for 2 weeks what i did hmm... i just went to the roof top and went stargazing i noticed if there is a blackout for a few days you actually see a lot of flying stars/ comets the go by ^_^

We played bingo everyday. Had to go to a public place to charge phones. It happened when typhoon frank(intl: fengshen) hit our area.

Oh lawd, remind me, I once have a blackout for about a weeks, because of flood. The road is flooding and no electricity for weeks.....that's really a hell.

4 years ago we had a drunken idiot who drove by our street and rammed his truck in two electrical posts, rendering the houses on our street (and 5 adjacent streets as well) powerless. The blackout lasted for 4 days since the electric company's response time was slower than a snail strapped to a baby rocket.

It was terribly boring - all we can do is play with the wax candles and make candle sculptures and tell creepy tall tales all night long until we were too sleepy enough to withstand a warm night without an electric fan or an aircon. We had a rechargeable radio to listen to FM songs, and my dad coerced me to bring that bulky shit to school to recharge it during schooltime, so that we could have some entertainment to listen to during the night.

Already out there.
