Yeah,chicken soup is common,and some recipes that is related with chicken soup can be eaten together with lontong .
:D
I believe its called Soto Ayam around here.Usually has a potato cake and eaten with fiery bird eye chili(optional but taste better with it)
Another variation is it is packed in a bamboo shoot and instead of water its cooked with coconut milk(i think).Best eaten with rendang(beef stew of sorts).Usually its made in villages though lol

You're right,dude .
That's why I always prefer lontong than rice,since I think it has better taste than rice .
Also,if you add lontong in a chicken soup,it'll make a great combination .

Lontong is also used in Gado Gado.Its more or less a salad with gravy and accompanied with fish crackers

There are also good ol' and cheap ketoprak. It also use lontong and I am very fond of it taste, and price.
Practically, I liked everything that includes lontong and santan ^^

I'm actually quite fond of Lontong with Beef soup. The soup making the longtong moist and adding a bit of a meaty flavor to it.
Though I don't think Lontong would go well with sambal... Anyone got any opinions on that?
