masochism: good or bad?

Ah yes, the willing masochist. Pain is truly an unbearable feeling once your body has been inflicted with an outside force meant to do harm to your body. But there are some who embrace pain, that sexually turns them on. Perhaps you heard some girls say, "bind me, call me a filthy pig, hit me with a whip, i want more pain!" while others cannot tolerate such pain inflicted, the masochists LOVE IT... Bad thing that can happen is that the body's pain sensors are dulled or the body battered (so the info says)...

Heres the big question:

If you found out your own woman is a masochist who loves pain, would you grant her desire and let her indulge in pain and pleasure (or is it pleasure through pain)?

Or you're a total peace lover that you cant even lay a single blow to your woman or she no wanna?

Im a sadist so i'll indulge her masochist side by pleasure through pain, nothing too extreme though, maybe mild bondage or spankings, no physical harm that leaves markings or long term effects.

If I were truly in love with this girl I'd indulge her to an extent. If that were the ONLY way she could receive pleasure, though, then there would be a problem between us as it's not really a turn on to me. Relationships are all about compromise, however.

Is masochism good or bad? Neither, I think. It just is. Unless it's extremely self-destructive, as in the person feels a lot of self-hatred and "needs" to be punished with extreme brutality, in which case it's likely an indication that something else is going on that should be looked into.

I don't think masochism is bad, it's a persons choice. If it makes them happy to be in pain, then why not? As long as they don't die from it and consent to everything that's happening then there shouldn't be a problem.

Basically the same. Soft can be romantic, but a lot of times I separate romanticism from sex. I can cuddle, kiss, express my affection all the time. But a lot of times during sex, I just want the sex and the relief.

People tend to not mind pain during sex because your endorphins are up and going, so you don't feel the same kind of pain you would during any other time.

I don't want called dirty names, and I would walk out of a room if that happened. There's a line between rough and respect.

Bondage I'm meh about. Simple handcuffs or blindfolding would be okay, but other then that I wouldn't be interested.
