Dont worry bout it holy, as long as youre not copying it i think its a good idea to have artist work that you admire as a jumping point, but its important that you are using the refernce to learn how they solved the problem rather than just coping it. Otherwise you'll never learn to get any better.

I personally dont care whether you copy or not. I'm not you, i dont have to deal with your reputation (honor) Ive got my own to worry about.

From the beginning, i don't intend to give -1 rep to holy101. It's just all talks. Also (i wonder if this right), If holy101 sketch it with sai(work like vector), then i can say, it's too easy. And surely, it's "copying" if he doesn't said that he "resketch" it.

If you really said like that(the don't care thing). Then of course, art is not "something" for you. Beside, what are you worry about?

Nah, I don't think anybody should give holy101 a down rep. I'm sure tkhnoman has teach him a lesson though I didn't realize that the artwork was an imitation of T2 until tkhnoman pointed it out. But that might be because I didn't have those book collection.(currently downloading T2's Zegapain and Bamboo Blade artbooks :D )

Copying is ok to me as long as its for training to improve yourself, but when you share it to public you have to state the artist that you copied from. I think its safer to use them as reference and develop your own style. I personally don't like to copy other artist since it kinda limits my creativity but still referring to their works to see how they draw pose, hands, clothing etc.

Still holy101 is a talented person, look at his colouring skill, its really good. I'm sure he'll be able to produce something good next time.


It's that easy? Sorry I don't know much about the sai software, the only thing I'm familiar with is photoshop and painter....

One more thing, holy101 if you posted this artwork on DA I think you should better remove it. The people in DA aren't as forgiving as tkhnoman.

From the way he draw line art and such, he draw the line art with SAI(that †¢M tool) and then also control that percentage thing. Looking at the leaking colour at the succubus, he totaly just brush that 15 layer(if i'm right :roll: ). That's just what i try to learn by seeing. Don't know the truth...

Nice effort holy 101, this one looks good too though I think the hand on the right seems kinda broad to me but it might be of my personal taste.



Don't worry I was just curios about the sai program, sounds like a very interesting program to use. Yeah its will be violation to post something like that on DA and yet there are still people doing it.

I realy liked every pic, the lines are very neat (wich is very hard for me), with some minnor adjustments to the proportions and with that colouring you are done! Great stuff!
At first when i started drawing anime characters the only thing i could do is to copy, and as time went by i started to draw my own stuff, and now it's realy hard for me to copy.. weird wild stuff.. so to me that was a good trainning; and to me one thing is to copy some drawing as it is and other is to draw something from zero using a style similar to other artist's (as long as you tell so), there are many mangaka helpers that draw a little like theyre sensei's, for example there's this fellow that draw much like Urushihara, Kimura Yoshihiro... i think.. here's a pic by him:

Hmm ... the neck seems a little short. And the eyes are positioned oddly and they don't look like they're focused on anything. Everything else is great, though! The coloring is very nice, especially the water.
